But....we beat them when it matter the most.
Bet they would exchange those victories for the 2008 Orange Bowl NC

FSU should be interesting next year. They will go in to the year with delusions of grandeur. A lot of things went their way this year. The law of averages will come back to hurt them next year. Should be fun.

Can't root for OU. Thought it was gutless the way Venables sold out Cale Gundy early this season. At some point adults need to be adults. Spoke to his lack of character, or maybe his fear of the place Gundy held in the locker room. In any event, here's to both programs crashing and burning next year!

Wouldn’t the law of averages be on display this season?

FSU now has an incredible bowl record of 29-17-2.
Unfortunately, we are treading water at .500 (24-24).

No you don’t… The Cuban authorities may still have arrest warrants out for the UF team, but we still claim that Bacardi Bowl win in 1912, so UF is 25-24 all time in “bowl games”.
By the the way App. State has a better bowl record than either Florida or FSU, so does Florida Atlantic, and Utah. Hell New Mexico St. has never lost a bowl game.

FSU was easily the best team in the state and Travis (IMO) was the best QB in the state. After years of being pretty bad they seem to have turned a corner. Their coach was very good at Memphis and has turned things around in Tallahassee.

Travis coming back is not exactly good news. UF unfortunately was not able to boatrace FSU in recruiting when they were down.

I was hoping it would be UF that "emerged" as the clear state front runner in 2022 but that did not happen.

Ruiz buying players in Miami and an emerging FSU is not particularily good news on the recruiting front.

And yet we came close to beating them… at their house, and the Oklahoma game swung on an Oklahoma touchdown being called back, (and the subsequent FG being missed) and an Oklahoma fumble deep in FSU territory.
FSU’s high school recruiting class last year was subpar and worse than ours this year, they have done well in the portal… it remains to be seen how that will work out.
Miami did recruit well this year, we’ll see how well that turns out for Mario also.
Some of people who are heaping praise on FSU and Miami, are the same folks that have openly called Napier a failure after one season ( this is not directed at you Gatorhead).
The truth is that up until this year Norvell’s record was bad as Taggart’s for the same time period, (Taggart was 9-12 and Norvell was 10-13, (Taggart was fired before his second season was finished) and Cristobal’s overall record is 67-67.
Those are facts also, we all make what we want with them.
Personally, (me, myself) while I’m disappointed in the results in year one, I’m more interested in where Coach Napier is three years from now than I am in where he is right now.
Since I’m not prescient, I don’t know where that will be, but personally (me, myself) I’ll wait and find out. (As my mother used to say Good Lord willing)

Hey, I'm all in with CBN, and I have no like for FSU or Miami football.

I don't want to be defending FSU over anything but 10 wins is 10 wins. Somehow that subpar recruiting resulted in those 10 wins for the holes.

Enough on that, I'm looking forward to Gator improvement on the field and continued success in recruiting. I am jacked about Rashada and DJ coming.

FSU's recruiting has been poor and our '23 class is way better than theirs. A weak schedule, including catching LSU early, ending with a bowl game against a 6-6 Oklahoma is how they got to 10 wins. They were definitely improved this season, but until they start recruiting better and beating more quality opponents, I'm not going to lose any sleep over them.

FSU didn’t recruit well this cycle despite their season. Travis has improved, I’ll give them that, but they don’t have a very high ceiling in terms of talent.

    Doesn't matter....they owned the 1990's.
Bobby Bowden made winning bowl games a priority.
Meanwhile, we hired one near-do-well coach after another.

I thought that going into this year and they won 10 games. I know they are in the ACC but 10 wins is still impressive for a club that has been in the gutter the last few years. (A deep gutter). Hope they drop off in 2023.
