I didn't expect us to make the final four or anything this year. With that said, I'm disappointed. I thought we'd at least make the NCAA tourney....especially with Castleton returning. I'm not giving up hope, but we need to string together some good wins.
Played them to the wire but a loss all the same. If Castleton hadn’t lost the ball he was going to be called for the push off. Still played them a lot closer than I thought we would.
They played a great road game against a tough team so overall a good performance. Sure there are things that could have been done better but this was an improvement. Reeves played great with his energy and aggressive drives if he can continue to play at this level it will help this team so much.
What happened to Kugel today? Had a chance to win. Too many horrible three-point shots. 3-19 tells me it is better to not even attempt 3-pointers. If half of those shots had been higher percentage 2 pointers or 10, and we made 30% or 3, we win by 3 points. Let's get into the analytics since that is the strength of the team right now.
I like your positive feedback.. I just want to see improvement..And I saw a lot..can they get better..I think so..at least the game was competitive and close till the end..we need to learn how to finish and win
15.8% from 3 just won't get it done, sadly. I guess it is an improvement from the 9.1% against OU, but just get it over 20% and we win. 89.5% FT 40.4% FG 15.8% 3PT
Sometimes a game like this . . . even in a losing effort . . . helps a team turn a corner. IDK. I'd really like KR (or someone) to consistently step-up so the other team can't focus on CC. Bonham looked, in spurts, like something of a threat. Fudge drove well a few times. The kids are CLOSE but like someone said, a close loss is still a loss.
Weird post. What does it have to do with this game? The Gators played a hell of a game on the road, with several far-out shitty calls and had the ball with a chance to win at the end.
I agree Jones made a few plays but his defense is not good and he is not a strong ball handler. Richard needs to get his game back.
I don’t think they’re gonna double him just to prevent the entry pass…. If he doesn’t get the ball… so be it. If he does, and draw a double- pass it. If they play him straight… go to work. But nothing good will come from a 6’11 guy bouncing the ball 4’ off the floor and trying to plow his way to the hoop from the 3-point line.
I tend to agree . . . and I think he's pressing. That 1-on-1 in the block looked poor and another couple he could have kissed it in the box and went for the straight shot (harder) and missed. I do not like our big getting it and trying to drive . . . whether it was designed or that's just what happened. Also too much standing around but more of the chicken-egg dilemna. What if CC took over and tried to drive though? That's a whole other problem I think. Edit: I am in no way blaming CC regardless though. Just to be clear.
Until we establish another low post option, they are going to keep Castleton out of the post. Why Golden won't play Jitoboh with Castleton is a mystery. They both had two fouls. It was not like either one was going to foul out or was in foul trouble. We got seriously outrebounded by 12. When are the analytics going to kick in? Why was our leading scorer in the game out of the game in the final minute?
I know it is a bad look to blame the officials but ... We lost because when we got wide open threes we didn't hit them. I loved the defensive effort
