Unlimited transfers but the student-athlete has to sit out one year (unless already graduated). All pregame fly overs must include jets….it’s just not the same when teams use cargo planes, helicopters, etc. The new Pres likely won’t listen to us but there’s always a chance….. Go Gators!
The rule as of now is one free transfer with a second sitting for a yr unless you get a waiver. Plus a graduate transfer. The rules committee voted down unlimited transfer at the beginning of the season. I expect it to pass in the next couple of years. If scholarships are for one year then a player should be allowed to seek out a new one each year.
Stop the insane coach buyouts and make it a 15 yard personal foul with automatic fisrt down everytime a team's fans bark at someone. A second violation will have the fan ejected from the stands and have to sit out the next game
Every player taking NIL money has to end every sentence with "Brought to you by Carl's Jr" And for my silly one, no more PA systems/music or in stadium commercials during games.
Serious: Require 1 year to sit out regardless of transfer reason. Get rid of collectives at all schools. Get rid of targeting rules. We didn’t need them for 80 years and we don’t need them now. Football will always be somewhat dangerous. That’s part of what makes it so entertaining. Have the NCAA actually investigate and punish schools that obviously flaunt the rules (such as moving players families half way across the world and giving them jobs).
I have 3 proposed rules because the OP is not the NCAA president yet and cannot tell me what to do. Unlimited transfers with a mandatory redshirt year unless the head coach has been fired. From the proposed legislature from Congressmen Tuberville and Manchin: prohibit boosters from forming collectives. Collectives need to be limited to being university-focused non-profit organizations that help athletes market themselves by providing a mechanism to sell goods based on name, image, and likeness (jerseys, t-shirts, mugs, towels, posters, autographs, speaking events, birthday parties, etc.). Reduce targeting penalties. Create a penalty box like hockey and make players sit out 10 minutes. Review the targeting for egregious violation, with penalties imposed after the game being written notice to the head coach and the player and a three strikes rule.
Serious: Since Saban is the ncaa president, do the opposite of what he wants. It’s probably good for everyone but bama, Georgia and A&M. Not so much: crown UF champ every year.
The obvious serious one is...I would fire myself for gross incompetency. The NCAA is the old model, whether it should have been or not. The "silly" one would be to stay in my position for as long as possible, and say the most inane things to keep getting attention (you know, any publicity is good publicity) so that I can get as much money off the system as I can.
Sitting out a mandatory season for every move is a great start. We need some stability somehow. Trying to keep boosters money in their pocket and getting objec enforcement has already proven to be a lost cause. Leveling the playing field is the most important thing for the sports. I suggest each coach gets to cut the leg off one opposing player of his choice before each game. I’d start with the clown qb. We would’ve won easily.
- Put the kibosh on what is an absolute joke, the NIL (wink-wink) inducement charade. - Ban smart (not really..) phones from all stadiums, this will prevent most from looking like complete fools and make live games much more enjoyable again.
Agree. Sitting out only 10 minutes sounds like a good time. And use a lighter targeting penalty for the OFFENSE to stop players from lowering their head as they are about to be tackled. Kidding: Stop using know it all announcers. Play by Play commentators only. Fire the 'announcer' from the FSU game and Beth Mowens.
Serious: If a targeting or unsportsmanlike conduct / late hit penalty causes a player to miss 5 games due to injury, then the player that caused it has to sit for 5 games (or how ever many games). Fun: at each home game, the home team gets to pick one person from the crowd to play on the team giving them 12 vs. 11. The person may not be very good but they probably won't cover them so it's worth a shot.
NIL reform as others have already stated. Took 1-2 years and it’s already completely out of hand. All teams required to have JetPacks
-I do believe kids should have free reign if a staff leaves. Fired or moves along shouldn’t prevent a player from doing the same. -Collectives? Don’t like any of it. -Reducing targeting? Let em play as long as no one is really head hunting. Defenseless players should be only protected person. Crack backs, stretched out receiver looking backwards, long snapper with head between his legs, etc. everyone should be fair game otherwise.
Serious: Freshmen ineligible for varsity play and a scholastic minimum course and hour requirement to bring college back to football. Kidding: Five year maximum immutable coaching contracts. One term limit at any school. Why? Just because I never heard of it and it's silly.
