The problem with nil is players moving all around and being bought and tampered with. If they were under contract, they couldn’t jump around for cash. Cash then paid would more likely be in line with the mone they generate for said business.

I added some more to my previous post.

That’s not the only problem with NIL, imo. That’s a problem, and I gave a reason why I don’t necessarily believe your solution is a great fix for that problem.

It’s not great. I can’t stand tge nfl but they have tge solution as does every professional sport in the world to some degree. The nfl has tge fairest system for all teams involved though. They have plenty of nil money thrown around too but it’s legitimate business deals.. teams get their asses handed to them if they tamper or cheat.

Ftr, and I think you know this already, I’m not advocating for this madness. I don’t like it anymore than most of the folks here ripping their hair out trying to figure out how to stop it, I’m just saying that I haven’t really seen any way to slow it down. None of the fixes I’ve seen so far will work. College is not the NFL, and you are not going to make it the NFL. They grew up differently, and what works for one does not automatically work for the other. NFL has always been funded by the owners. College has always been funded by the fans/alumni. People don’t donate millions to have facilities built for pro teams, but in college they do. People don’t donate millions for NFL teams to buy the best players, but in College people do. It’s just not the same.

We could let Miami break off into their own state. They'll adopt a state tax and that would take care of a lot of things if we can get high school kids to understand finance 101 and the definition of theft and extortion
