I think Rashada is the plan next year at some point. Top qb’s don’t come to sit, especially to a roster without an established starter.

Rashada is far higher rated than any qb we’ve had on the roster in recent years.

I mean for 2023. If we're relying on Rashada for next year, we're in trouble.

Not necessarily, there have been a handful of successful freshmen and we aren’t going to be very good next year no matter who the qb is. Rashada playing next year may be huge for 24.

It is exceedingly rare that a true freshmen can come in and be effective in year one in the SEC. Especially with a suspect supporting cast (total turnover of the OL, very young and inexperienced WR talent). My hope is that Rashada gets meaningful minutes next year, but I wouldn't expect much production until year 2 or 3. He is good, but he isn't all worldly. I'm glad we signed him, but he doesn't look like a game changer to me, not from day one anyway.

Ideally, we would've signed a stud 5th year QB who could bridge the gap and let Rashada learn the ropes. Instead, we signed one that leaves most of us hoping an 18 year old with no college snaps will step in and be our savior. Not a good plan...at all. And the likelihood of success is very, very low. Trying to trust the coaches, but I suspect 2023 to be a big step backwards OFFENSIVELY. However, I think we'll improve DEFENSIVELY...at least I hope we will. We will have more talent on D. But, again, very young and inexperienced talent. Unless the portal delivers us some late Christmas presents.

I agree with all that black Rashada playing more next year maybe Napier‘s plan regardless of what we think. If he brought any top-notch quarterback, Richard I would only get my pet duty here or there in games we were winning big. We might not win any big games next year no matter who our quarterback is because you are correct on the struggles of this office coming up

Schedule sets up for them, if he comes in and has the goods that is, to slowly usher him in before the UGA game. I think we're going to be 3-3 no matter WHO is the QB between Mertz, Miller, and Rashada

    @ Utah - L
    McNeese State - W
    Tennessee - L
    Charlotte - W
    Vandy - W
    @ USCe - L
    Bye
    UGA - L
    Arky - W
    @ LSU- L
    @ Missouri - W
    FSU - L

That Charlotte, Vandy, USCe stretch is where I think IF you want to get him in there, that's the stretch to do it. I envision it as don't play him vs Utah, ease him in vs McNeese State, play him against UT if the starter struggles, then give him the reigns against Charlotte and go from there

absolutely this! Everyone is up in arms about Tarquin and White leaving (along with Torrence and Goriage) but Leonard and Barber are basically returning starters in their own right especially Barber. Leonard has played enough the last two years to be considered a starter imo.

    LT: Barber
    LG: portal or whoever
    C: Kingsley
    RG: Leonard
    RT: Waites

Just need to blow out Charlotte, Vandy, and McNeese State so that we can build depth along the OL

It likely won’t be much with either of the other two, imho, so play the kid and get him battle tested for 24.

Exactly. We weren't contending for the SEC and beating UGA with AR, Hartman, McCall, Mertz, whoever the hell will be the starter next year so just build for 2024.

We might beat South Carolina? If the Shota plays early and our office develops at all along the office of lineman some of these young receivers do well also, we might have a shot at beating in the clowns also

gun to my head, by the USCe game i'd love for the starting 11 on O to be:

    WR: Hendo
    WR: Pearsall
    WR: Wilson
    TE: Zip
    LT: Barber
    LG: ????
    C: Kingsley
    RG: Leonard
    RT: Waites
    QB: Rashada
    RB: Trell

The idea of wasting another season, just to get ready for the next one...sucks. We should be competitive next year. McCall or Hartman under center alone might make the diff between a 8-4 team or one that is 5-7.

Notre Dame rumored to be destination.
Be interesting to see how we finish. We should match up well w SC. If we replace the OL losses ( that’ll be tough) and grab 2-3 impact players defensively out of portal for a shot to improve and i agree with you where we get Rashada in. That’s a very good stretch to get him some meaningful snaps.

Boardingham I hope, Zip so far hasn’t lived up to the hype but we also haven’t had a qb that utilizes the te’s and rb’s.
