Trask was a very polished high school QB. He could have started at almost any high school in the country but chose to stay and play behind King. I believe his completion percentage was around 70%. He would have been rated four stars had he been a starter. After seeing his clips and then Franks' there was no doubt Kyle was the better QB.

I still don't understand why any coach put Franks in as the starter of Trask.

 

My guess is the team absolutely loved him. And dude would run through a wall for his teammates. Wish it could have worked out better for him at UF. But he’s getting paid to play football. And I got to witness the greatness of KT.

 

and Franks mobility too. Remember Mullen never had a pure drop back passer to run his O since he was UF with Leak.

lastly I think "rebuilding" Franks so he can say to people "see what I did with him" appealed to Mullen's ego as well lol

The football world to day has got this idea that if you run fast, it makes you a better qb.( Franks doesn’t even run that well)

We forget that when Trask shined in back up roles, he wound up injured shortly after.

We can't blame that on Mullen.
