I would still be surprised if it happened. That's an illegal analysis, just an observation of the fact that nothing goes according to rule with him. And if he does, I would expect it to be some type of performance, which will not harm him under his special chaos rules

Trump lawyers will argue law allowing writer to sue for alleged rape is invalid

Donald Trump plans to argue that a New York law allowing a writer to sue him over her claim that he raped her decades ago is unconstitutional, according to a court filing.

In a filing in Manhattan federal court this week, lawyers for Trump said they would move to dismiss the lawsuit filed last month by E Jean Carroll, in part on grounds that the law is invalid.

Trump denies Carroll’s claim that he raped her in a dressing room in the department store Bergdorf Goodman 27 years ago.

The former Elle magazine columnist is suing Trump for defamation and battery under New York’s Adult Survivors Act.

The law was spurred by the #MeToo movement, during which many women alleged sexual misconduct and assault by men in positions of power.

The Adult Survivors Act created a one-year period, beginning last month, in which adult victims of alleged sexual abuse can file lawsuits that otherwise would have been barred because the cases were too old.

And if the political and media environment of 1974 were the same as those of today Richard Nixon would have served a full second term. First, a significant segment of the media would have portrayed Nixon as a victim rather than a perpetrator and perhaps much more significantly there would have been no way that that two-thirds of the Senate would have voted to remove Nixon from office. If he were impeached which would have been likely he would almost certainly not have been removed from office with the results being very similar to Trump's impeachment in 2019. Tragically the political culture of the US has devolved to the point in which loyalty to party and loyalty to one man takes precedence over the rule of law.
