I'll be contrarian just because I can be. I hate this for depth, but our weakest links on the line were White and Tarquin and the Eguakun. The overall performance of the OL improved, but the drop off from Torrence to White was huge, and White was the worst offender of false starts. He is who Richie spelled to get 20 snaps per game, and White probably didn't like that.. Leonard is the obvious replacement for White. Waites for Tarquin.

2 things imo......giving kids a fair shot to be evaluated, and the staff having limited time to find replacements at day 1

You think white was a weak link? Was voted all SEC second team so many others feel differently including me

I get the ones that hit the portal immediately after the season was over....those were most certainly players that were told to hit the bricks. Its the ones that we have seen more recently that were starters with eligibility that indicate that perhaps things may not be running as anticipated.

If UF goes 7-5 or even 6-6 I'll probably be at least somewhat happy. In 2024 I won't be happy with 7-5 but next year UF will still be a young team and right now I think we don't have enough depth at several positions.

I'm gritting my teeth and hoping because the portal is still open so its too early to evaluate what we have on hand to play in 2023. UF used to be a desirable destination for players....I guess we will have to just wait and see what we get before we have any idea how 2023 will play out.

Probably wanted a season to evaluate what was on the roster and what they could potentially improve.

I would have thought that film and Spring drills could have provided a good insight into that info.

The season only finished a few days ago. And they generally don't tell guys to hit the bricks. They tell them where they fit, how they have been evaluated, and in many cases what their NIL value is for UF. Kids then make a decision

The season finished on 11/26, as the horde of players opting out and hitting the portal the Monday after suggested. Telling a player that their evaluations suggest they suck, they aren't going to play, and there won't be any NIL money is the equivalent of telling them to hit the bricks.

I don’t think it’s practical to come in and start chopping heads of fifth year seniors and “star” players. Cox, for example, was probably a problem from day one, a lot easier to make a move 9 months in, then before you’ve established any type of culture.

Film doesn’t portray attitude. Also need to field a team. You gotta give the kids that want to stay a chance to prove themselves. I’m assuming the first to bolt were the non buy in guys. This batch are probably those that didn’t make the cut and maybe some collateral damage of those that want something easier or different. The roster losses were pretty much expected, a few anomalies aren’t the end of the world.

I really don’t get all the angst.

So its better to dismiss a player right in the middle of a season than prior to it or after? I'm not sure I would agree with that.

Before practicing & working out with the team? How would he know who to replace?

I don’t know how it could have been done differently. Go through winter workouts & spring practice. Determine what you could live with for 1 season until you can build it back up with recruiting.

Like I said elsewhere, the portal is still open so perhaps we will see players come in that can compete immediately and fit in the culture. I will admit that my angst, at least, comes from looking at our current roster today and understanding that we are in much worse shape than we were on the last day of our very poor last season.

I didn't think of White as a strength of our OL. Mullen and Hevesy brought his 3-star lard butt in, now we're seeing these sum beaches leave. If you ain't a.Gator, you're nothing but Gatorbait, baby!

Then he escorted 6 to the portal post spring. If he pushed 25 out the door, who would replace them? I’m

Billy specifically said that there were others planning to enter after playing in the bowl game. He also expressed his thoughts about transferring prior to the bowl game
