WTF?

 

They announced the CEO of GC is out (the Rojas dude that embarrassed himself on twitter). That is a good thing. Hope Heitner goes with him.

That's why its so important that we recruit these guys as hard as possible instead of writing them off as unattainable. The last coaching staff didn't bother to pursue anyone that didn't have immediate interest. They wanted the easy way out.

 

You check other messages boards? Every, single big time University has similar fans. Every one them. You really want to lay that blame on some of our fans? What about the players that did chose UF? Do you think they are oblivious to message boards or are they just thicker skinned? If so, that means the ones you think fans did chase away are swayed by message boards (maybe thin skinned), but somehow they didn’t read the message boards of teams they signed with. You should have seen Bama’s just a few weeks ago - after all the success they have had. This is a message board - it welcomes all opinions, even yours - which I obviously disagree with. I don’t think our University has more virtual signaling, irrational fans that make wild claims with zero factual basis and no cross references. Nope - other Universities has have those too.

 

Twitter is far worse, but its hard to know who those people are.

On this board, the vast majority are reasonable, with some impatience sprinkled in here and there.

 

We’re still assholes to our players, coaches, and team. That’s the point - not trying to make ourselves better by saying ‘other people do it too “.

 

it wasn’t so much blame to me, it was an observation.
Your opinion matters as much to me as mine does to you. Everyone has an opinion and I’m ok with that.

Everyone is entitled to share on these message boards. Please don’t bother me again.

 

This is is a surprise.

I think at some point you can opt out with regards to scholarship numbers, but we weren’t anywhere near that.
If you want revenue sharing you are obligated to participate… now it is true that no one can force a team into a bowl they don’t want, but in real terms if you’re in a conference you have to play if chosen for a bowl game.
It’s unfortunate that we drew what may have been the worst bowl game possible, (as far as logistics and timing were concerned) but it is what it is… if you participate in a conference you have to play by their rules.

 

Respectfully disagree (which is rare with your posts), I don’t believe that is what the post meant. One still couldn’t explain why that claim didn’t affect the ones that did sign with us. To me it reeked of guilt trip crap like “see what you others do that say these kind of things”, and it has zero factual basis. Having said that, I hope you have a great holiday Skink!

 

For every Joe Burrow, there seems to be 10 Arik Gilbert’s. More often than not, they are pushed to the portal..it seems UF has done better in the portal with players moving up from lesser programs than taking the leftovers.
