Three metal pillars and one cross metal pillar up today. Daktronics crew is working hard to get the new scoreboard finished. They were still on the job at 5:30 today.
Thx -- Would appreciate a pix when it gets finished since I'm out-of-town for the off-season. I went to the Daktroics website -- seems their project list is a bit behind..... University of Florida (daktronics.com)
Amanda Lorenz and her long-time boyfriend, Griffin Mazur, are officially engaged. They have been together 12 years, but only in the same place together for 2 of those years. He is the Volunteer Assistant Coach for Clemson Baseball. She moved to Clemson this past summer. She has a multi-year sponsorship with Adidas, plays AU Pro Sports, and a member of the US National Team. She has a deal with DeMarini bats, Evoshield Equipment, and Wilson Gloves.
I would love to see her hired at Florida as the Asst. Head Coach in charge of hitting and recruiting.
Good idea, but her soon to be husband and she are going to have to be a packaged deal. Baseball team would have to find a place for him.
Daktronics crew told me the new scoreboard is scheduled to be completed the end of January. Timeline makes sense as the first home game is February 14. Next challenge is to get the scoreboard operator up to speed as last year’s was turtle like.
I noticed that also, but came to the conclusion that many times it's umpire related. Even when the call is obvious -- ball sails over everyone's head and hits the backstop -- I'm not sure the scoreboard operator is allowed to update without a hand signal from Blue. There seemed to be pattern of no update when Blue didn't show the count. Maybe you could post a pix when it gets finished? I'm hopeful for high-definition replays.
Here is a picture from 12/26/22 Today I parked across the street in front of the next picture. I might break in there sometime.
No update to the score board today. They didn't work today, and I wonder if they are not off all week. I'm good if it is ready for the first home game.
At least we know someone is working this week. Two guys were working this morning. One was welding, and the other was on the lift.
It's on his way to class across the street. I've heard he may graduate summa cum laude with the Cheech and Chong distinguished scholar award.
Update on the scoreboard. The black panels are the video board itself. I spoke with one of the workers, and he told me. You cannot see the bulbs from a distance, but you can up close. The only time I was close was behind the scoreboard, but I could see them in their container.
