Since the first Army bowl days, I can’t remember a player/recruit pulling these type of antics. Most have been class acts to the best of my knowledge.

5* Peyton Bowen flipped from Notre Dame to Oregon yesterday.....did not sign and now predicted to flip to Oklahoma.

 

Won’t disagree with ya. Very well could have been. It’s why I don’t tell my GF anything of importance thru text. Could be taken out of context.

only one i'll give credit to for this is Cormani because NO one (outside of coaches at Miami) thought he was going there. He was all UF with a prayer of going to Bama. THAT'S "shocking the world" or same with Travis Hunter and how he okie doked FSU on signing day for JSU.

Now idk if you're following recruiting nationally, but ole boy Peyton Bowen got ND, Oregon, and Oklahoma in a chokehold. ND commit flipped to Oregon yesterday but DIDN'T sign his LOI and now he's being rumored to flipping to Oklahoma lol.

I think with NIL, more coaches need to do what Josh Pate was saying on his show yesterday...give a kid a NIL offer and tell him this is our final offer, take it or leave it. We're not about to play these games with you.

you was? not me lol. i've noticed with state of Florida kids that if they're within like a 2 hour or less drive to UF and they're dragging their commitment out, they aren't coming to UF. Those kids usually just get their commitment out of the way. I'm not saying it's an exact science, but i've started to notice that lol

 

Yea, not a big national follower, but that’s a ridiculous situation, and I agree with Josh, who I watch often. It’s obvious it’s about money for some, vs coaches/ schools for others. I hope NIL bites a bunch of schools in the a$$ over the long haul. And when they enter the portal down the road, because they aren’t happy where they are, are they even worth the pursuit?!

 

Announcement ceremonies are dumb period. Pick your school, sign your letter, handle your business. The drama is obnoxious. Just my unsolicited opinion though...

That's why I love guys who keep their head down, stay committed, and send in there LOI with no fanfare or charades.

 

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Josh channel, he's so unbiased and covers every conference as much as he can. I think if UF isn't going to go big on NIL with HS kids, I do believe they may want to swagger jack FSU model and NIL it up in the portal along with OL and DL. The class we brought in now is great, if we were more active in portal when it first opened, we could/should have filled our OL, DT, and LB needs.

 

I sure wish we would get active in the Portal. Uga just go Ra Ra Thomas. Wr from Miss St. And now leading for Lovett from Missouri.

I will say this…they need us now because of the brand and $$ we represent, and that we are in the fastest growing state in the country. Wasn’t always that way.

The Sunshine State was total backwater until about 1960 and mosquito control and AC became widespread. And that corresponds with the successes of our athletic program. We’ve made up for it in short order though.

Before this year, total historic SEC titles across all sports - UF 240, next closest is UT at 150.

We are also only one of five schools in the entire country to win nattys in the three major men’s sports. No SEC team can say that either. Yeah they need us now…

Yep, every kid has to have their special moment…even though it’s always in the same way….therefore none of these moments are special

Interesting, because Kirby didn’t take any last year. Absolutely don’t want to see them get Lovett.

 

Definitely don't want Uga to get some really good receivers....that's about all they lack.

 

I'd be interested to know the numbers of portal players who actually choose their original #2 school. It seems like some of these kids burn that bridge with how they act during LOI/commitment or if their #2 was ever their real second choice. Fan backlash might have an effect there too.
