I feel great about that as long as CBN has someone in his army who can do what Mullen loved to do. I'm not convinced that CBN did much of anything in his offense to create mismatches like Mullen did. I'm also not convinced he had the personnel to necessarily do that when AR was erratic or was not willing to run. CBN can't spend his time scheming like that. Mullen let a lot of important stuff go because he wanted to scheme.
He was The all-American allstar game MVP and broke The touchdown per game work. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...UQFnoECAwQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3RgekjFWp1kfPCSDToAiZt
After this season I hear you buddy, but we’re only one year into a total overhaul and no QB is gonna fix all the shit that was clearly broke just one week ago
We’re not taking Mertz, we’re getting somebody better. Mertz is an emergency take only, in case the top guys inexplicably go elsewhere. The reports of Mertz to UF are unconfirmed. Nothing to see here Maybe he’s coming as a PWO only. Maybe we’re signing 2 portal QB’s. You know what, every QB sucks at Wisconsin. He was an All-star game MVP in high school, so solid take!
Truth... But with project QBs such as Richardson and Mertz and Miller we can't run a Spurrier-esque offense.... unfortunately. If we can get Stetson Bennet game manager out of Mertz until Rashada or Lagway start, maybe we can find some ways to win.
I'm more worried about the Defense. Best and 2nd best LB, gone, Best DLineman gone off of the worst D in UF history. We desperately need some portal studs in those areas and some quick development by the young guys in the DB.
“Of course, we’ll wait and see the way the portal plays out. Graham Mertz to Florida isn’t moving the needle, but if someone like Sam Hartman were to enter the fray, well, that would change things a bit.” Why Devin Leary will absolutely be in the All-SEC discussion entering 2023
