The last 5 minutes of the first half was atrocious.
up 29-20, chance to really build on the lead, and we took so many ill advised shots. You knew at that point, we were not winning this game. Oklahoma is not a good basketball team either.
4:33 Kowacie Reeves missed Three Point Jumper. 29 20
4:18 Trey Bonham missed Three Point Jumper. 29 20
    4:13 Jason Jitoboh missed Jumper. 29 20
    3:43 Myreon Jones missed Jumper. 29 20
    2:58 Kyle Lofton missed Layup. 29 20
2:39 Will Richard missed Three Point Jumper. 29 22
    1:57 Colin Castleton made Layup. 31 24

I turned it on for a few minutes in the first half and saw a possession with some great passing to find a good shot and a possession with a quick trigger that would have gotten bench time last year. There's a lot to learn and I trust it will get better with practice. But, it seems to me the players now have more latitude to chuck the ball when they are feelin' it and I'm not sure how that experiment will work without real NBA-type talent.

Since it's the Holiday Season and most here got the biggest thing they wanted from last year, Merry Christmas to all and God bless us everyone.

On offense, we were forcing the ball to CC, good.
But, when half the time the pass is picked off, or the ball stolen, or a a bad forced shot due to not being able to get to CC due to too many people on him. it seems like the other three players other than CC and someone trying to drive inside to get to him, just stand around. Why don’t we have a quick moving , around the perimeter offense with passing and movement. Our screens don’t seem to ever seem to work. OU just worked inside and out on their screens, if the big center was outside or he switched inside and it seemed to give him and his teammates open looks three quarters of the game.

When I see CC in three point land I want to puke.
He shouldn’t be shooting threes for scouts, that probably will never be his game. Practicing this during our games shows our coach can’t tell his star to stay at the foul line or closer. When he is outside, his hips are so slim, every defender get around his picks. Now he is way outside, some teammate normally drives or shoots and their is normally a mismatch to rebound the ball. so, if this transpires with no points, add insult to injury, usually no rebound. a double wack to the gut.
Lofton also not being a three point threat is disappearing on a regular basis, I would rather see a bigger point guard, Aberdeen, who can shoot better and needs to get in the flow with this team, or we will be stuck in not being able to close out good teams. when we recruit point guards, we better find someone who can fill it up from outside.
Inside players need to be stronger bigs, thicker, we are getting pushed around under the boards, Jitoboh is not but is slow defensively. We have to get better bigs. Colin shouldn’t have every play go to him, he lost the ball quite a lot last night and missed a lot of close in shots. we have to find ways to get better shooters open to even out the scoring so we can keep teams from just collapsing on the inside. CTG seems to be another nice guy, ex. CMW. That won’t in the long run work. We need fighters that will scrap. we have begun the harder part of our schedule, I winch when I see Auburn on the road, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama anywhere! Recruiting with a losing record and being on tv to see us collapse against good teams, makes it even harder. I am afraid CTG is hitting on big time recruits just to get eaten up. The transfer portal doesn’t give cohesiveness to a team, just fills holes temporarily. too many guys just wanting to show out on the big stage and get to the pros. You have to be and experienced top notch coach to make these disjointed teams of players work. I feel in my bones, we are in a total rebuild mode like the football team. Urrrggghh!

Another disappointing finish, but still would rather watch this team than the football team .

I'd rather watch The View than our football team right now so that isn't a high bar for the basketball team

Yep. We lost the game during those 5 minutes. Many of those were easy shots, others were ill-advised shots.
