Think we have a tremendous weakness at TE coach, Special Teams Coach, ILB Coach and Safety Coach

 

What’s disappointing is how many recruits have had a crystal ball to UF to only go elsewhere. That’s happened a lot this recruiting class.

I hope we stay in the Top 15

 

So like…half the coaching staff?

 

To me, BN has not shown he is a great Xs and Os coach. I didnt care cause he was looking like a real good recruiter and thats where it all starts. But, if he cant get us a top 10 class, we aint winning the east (unless we get very lucky) anytime soon.

 

Bama and Georgia have been on autopilot for a while now in recruiting and with NIL and the transfer portal… recruiting has taken a significant turn. Texas A&M showed what a flow of cash does for recruiting last year, and it didn’t ultimately help their cause. FSU built a better team through the portal. The ultimate question going into Spring and forward, is can we leverage both high school recruiting and transfer portal to build a balanced and deep team. I think we are top 15, and I hope we build defense through the portal.

 

This is not an I told you so moment. I hate being right sometimes, but we are behind too many schools in the NIL race.

Can’t rely on the portal though, Norvell did what he had to do to save his job. He will feel the consequences of those decisions when he has more people graduate at the same time in a couple years, leaving a huge hole. The temptation of the portal results in roster mismanagement in reference to what year the athletes are. Not worried

 

Seems that Isaiah Nixon is our only committed player that Spivey is not predicting a signature for today. Anybody know his story? He does have some CBs to UCF. Grades?

Some people are as dumb as some of the football players.

 

If he has the ceo chops, he can get coaches in place to win. He doesn’t control the payroll though so to blame coaches for lacking recruiting would be disingenuous at best. He’s doing his end of rec, he’s not supposed to fund nil too.

 

Not bad - he is a Grantham type defender. Needs to gain 30 lbs just to see the field.

Interesting that the first six signees of the morning are Early Enrollees (January). Would be nice to see a high percentage of those guys here for a change. That kind of head start with all of our turnover seems even more important this year.
