Oklahoma has a loss this season to Sam Houston State, an 8-point win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and a 4-point win over Ole Miss.

    Poor offensive sets and execution.

I watch every game. As painful as that has become. There’s no chemistry with this group of players. It looks like they don’t play with much joy for the game and for each other. Not a ton of passion. Just blah basketball so far this season.

That's going to change this season with baseball and softball. Gymnastics is about even. Their football team went 6-6 just like ours.

Maybe so...I think it might be because they come from different places and haven't played that much together

I'm concerned and it starts with TG. We seem to only play man to man and on offense we seem to run high ball screens and sometimes a post up by CC. Most of the time on offense we have 3 to 4 players standing around. Then we have guys just not playing at all and others that seem to play too much. I'm hoping he is a hell of a recruiter because I'm not sure he is the strongest x's and o's guy...at least I haven't seen it so far. When they cut the lead to 5 in the first half he should have called a timeout but didn't so the lead shrank to two and when he did burn his timeout for the last possession of the first half....the play was the usual high ball screen. Then after we had a dunk on the loose ball scramble in the 2nd half that was a big lift...he called a timeout to kill the momentum from that play.

I know it's early, but it looks like LSU made the better basketball hire too.

I knew football would be nowhere near the top, but it was still worse than expected.

I really thought basketball was going to be vastly improved, the roster Golden put together at least appeared solid enough. But I guess it’s somewhat similar to Whites last couple years, the reality is these mid major transfers often show *why* they were mid-major prospects in the first place, and we need to learn to stop hyping them. But I have to say Golden’s game coaching and X’s and O’s don’t look great, it’s not like OU is loaded. Granted, it’s now apparent we are pretty weak across the backcourt (if only Golden had convinced Appleby to stay!). As of now it’s worse than last year, a massive disappointment. Guess we have to hope Golden learns on the job. It’s just hard to see this years team going anywhere, but it would be nice to see some improved play at least to at least be a better than .500 SEC team. That was just sloppy nonsense. Just way too many bad fundamentals and breakdowns on offense AND defense now. Playing like that and we won’t even sniff .500, let alone any tournament.

Appreciate your insight..however I want to see what he does after he has been our coach longer than 9 months and 12 games into the season

That team won’t win enough games to make the NIT.

Have we played zone this year? Might give our guys playing larger minutes a tiny bit of relief on the defensive end.

Why don't we wait till seasons end to make that distinction..and we don't know what future years may hold..some are willing to give up on their teams and see only the negative with any kind of problems or bad play..

I understand it is definitely early for TG in his Gator career to know how successful he will be...but have you ever hired someone at work and within the first month or two you already have concerns about your hire.

We all need to give each of our new coaches a chance to improve their respective teams..
