While yes, I think most Floridians and people moving to Florida want to live under DeSantis. My point was more that he can't be doing too bad of a job considering the amount of people moving to Florida.

As far as housing prices, yes... people moving somewhere causes prices to go up. People leaving causes prices to go down. Nothing new.

Speaking of Grandma, in early 2021 Ron DeSantis was bragging about ensuring that Grandma got her vax. Fast forward to December 2022 and Governor Ron "I love to pander" DeSantis is now attacking the same vaccines that he was bragging about rapidly distributing a year and a half earlier.

    Really? Wow.

For generations people have moved to FL, but now that Desantis is governor, the same rate of people are moving in but now it is mostly due to Desantis. Is it warm in that bubble of yours? Do you have Desantis posters on your ceiling?

I'm now convinced calling you Dory is unfair to Dory.

people are leaving California due to high cost of living. Cost of living is high because lots of people wanted to live there
people are moving to Florida with or without DeS. He is insignificant with respect to migration to Florida. The more people that come here, the higher the cost of living will be

Poster is in death spiral spin.... in the DeS pandering thread, throws out how DeS and Fl Pubs are why Fl. has large intra-state growth. Facts were then presented showing more than 50% of growth is non-American so likely NOT a Red/Blue issue and that the growth has been constant for decades anyway. Now wants to go with income tax? Backtrack much?

I wasn't even the one that originally said income tax is a big factor in people moving to Florida. That was @G8trGr8t . I simply agreed.

And if that is true, that means policy is a major factor in people moving to Florida. Why? Income tax is policy.

You know who crafts policy? Politicians.

    This:
is not the same statement as this:

"Most people are moving to Florida because of DeSantis."

I'm really feeling sorry for Dory right about now.

If I wanted an intelligent conversation, I am now convinced you would be the last person I want to engage with.

Also, I thought you could do this all night?

He's saying that the medical establishment relayed false information about the vaccines, not that the vaccines were bad for everyone, especially the elderly.

So why are California's housing prices higher than ours?

Really? You mentioned state income tax as one of the major factors of people moving to Florida, not even me.

Tell me, who determines whether a state has a state income tax?

OK. I obviously hurt your feelings when I embarrassed you by demonstrating your supposed “lies” were actually verifiable facts, and all this subsequent nonsense is your feckless way of trying to salvage a thread of intellectual dignity. And the biting Dory barbs have demonstrated to all your ability to own this particular “Lib”.

    Nice Job. Carry on.

Part of it is bad public policy (but let's not go down that rabbit hole because we're not going to get anywhere. You say Florida has bad public policy, I say California does and we'll be here all night), part of it is because a lot of people wanted to live there.
