it's just more delusional misinformation that they want to believe anything that makes allows them to justify support, regardless of the facts. people move from Florida too, but the population increase trend line has been consistent for 40 + years regardless of who did what

I don't have to. I never said mass immigration to Florida is new, nor did I say that DeSantis is this primary cause of mass immigration.

Here is what I initially said.

This was in response to the notion that Florida is the poster child for how not to handle the pandemic.

If that is true, wouldn't you expect a break in the graph of people leaving? Hell, at least growth slowing down? None of that happens. Not only that, Republican margins in Florida grew dramatically in 2022. DeSantis went from winning by maybe 20,000 against Gillum to winning by 1.5 million against Crist.

Less than 24 hours ago you characterized COVID as serious for children because hundreds of children died from COVID.

Now you're telling me, "well I'm sure it's a nonzero number that moved to Florida due to lockdowns, but not really a significant number."

everyone was moving here before. that has been documented

older people vote republican. older people vote at a higher percentage. the majority of people moving here are older, republican, and vote at a higher %. that has been documented

district maps were redrawn by DeS and were more gerrymandered than the ones the courts ruled ilelgal. those maps are in court and will be thrown out too. that helped the pubs win the house. that is documented.

The only thing that DeS can claim responsibility for is going to be deemed illegal. He didn't increase migration, he didn't change senior voting tendencies. He did capture latino vote with his machismo act and a democratic machine that really sucks. He gets credit for their ignorance.

I'll ask you the same question you gave me:

If he was so bad, why would people keep moving to Florida?

Why would people keep leaving California despite having beaches and warm weather as well?

Too Hot DeSantis Haters: "DeSantis is more dangerous than Trump, he's going to codify many of the things that Trump couldn't."

Also Too Hot DeSantis Haters: "DeSantis hasn't done anything."

I’m answering your questions, and you reply with this?

I guess the crime is he “bullied” people with his advice and said he is the science? Because he said he supported local lockdowns and vaccine mandates? That’s the crime or that’s the fraud? I asked because I assume you had something more substantive.

It’s amazing the intellectual leaps some will go through to support their tribal leaders.

Poster has blatant logical fallacy ( along with causation/correlation issues) : Please inform everyone how intra-state migration is affected solely/largely by the Governor.

Harold Schwartz and his son, Gary Morse, are way more responsible than DeSantis for people moving to Florida.

Let’s put the word “crime” on the backburner for a second.

I want to be clear that you agree with those statements (apart from the crime aspect) first before we go further. You’ve questioned me at every step of the way only to eventually backtrack.

I thought policy does affect migration. I’ve heard more than once on this very thread Florida is appealing because of no state income tax.

Is it so much of a stretch to say other policies largely affect migration as well?

And if people are willing to move to Florida over no state income tax, I’d think they’d be willing to move out because DeSantis killed grandma.

California's housing prices are higher than ours. Didn't this argument originate from you claiming that housing prices are on the rise (and housing availability is falling) because people want to live under DeSantis?

Did Fauci “bully”? No don’t agree. Expressing an opinion on public health matters is not bullying.

Did he advocate (local) lockdowns or vaccine mandates? I assume he did. I haven’t actually checked but I’d be surprised if he didn’t.
