OK. Fair enough. But my understanding of the pro life argument was that taking the life of a fetus, a human life, is so abhorrent, it is effectively equivalent of murder, and given the gravity of the act, it supersedes the right of a woman to control her bodily autonomy and justifies the government stepping and forcing the woman to give birth, potentially at significant health consequence to the mother. But you aren’t saying that, I don’t think. You see it as an extermination of human life (which literally it is) but you don’t see it as serious as murder. Presumably if it is equivalent to murder the consequences would be similar, correct? From that, I would conclude that you don’t see the life of an early term fetus on a similar standing as that of a baby (post birth ). But yet, in spite of that, you still think it is more important than the rights, bodily autonomy and health of the mother? I think that is what lawyer is getting at. You don’t seem to think abortion is as serious as those who call it murder, yet you are still content for the government and step in and tell your wife and daughters what they should and shouldn’t do regarding their bodies and health.
Honestly I don't. I don’t deny he did, I assume a simple google will prove it. Why is this important? FWIW he has been in the infectious disease field about 50 years.
sadly, the outcome or the legality will not matter, only the huffing and puffing of their new champion.
I'm getting there. So if Dr. Fauci represents the science, Dr. Fauci supports lockdowns and vaccine mandates, and lockdown advocates used "follow the science as their battlecry," that would mean that if you oppose the lockdowns you are anti-science, is that correct?
Poster conflates causation/correlation since "Almost four-fifths of Florida’s 209-percent population growth since 1970 has been from new residents moving into the state. Much of this in-migration comes from outside the United States – including 30 percent from the Caribbean and Central America, 17 percent from Asia, and 15 percent each from South American and Europe." Must be that 70% immigration moved specifically to vote for DeSantis even going back to 1970 when he was not born. Try another avenue. Derp. Be better
So I guess people aren't moving in large numbers from other states to Florida. That's just a myth now.
You are the very essence of the type of liberal I talk about here regularly. Its all or nothing with you. The only way, is my way and that's that. Well good luck with that. You are the rigid one, not me.
and people like warm places, no state income tax, waterfront property, beaches, year round outdoor activities, and liberal bankruptcy laws. people have been flocking to Florida long before DeS became gov and will continue to long after DeS moves on. Older population tends to vote mroe pub and it is older people moving here. Redistricting by DeS has set illegal boundaries that are goingt o be required to be redrawn and that helped pubs too, but ignore all those facts and just yell GO TEAM, it takes much less mental energy
Those two things are not like the others. Those are controllable policies that you happened to choose and hyperfocus on while ignoring all of the others that may make Florida appealing.
Seems like you got us backwards. How do you figure I'm saying 'the only way is my way and that's that' when I am the one who wants to give the choice to the woman and you are the one who wants to take the choice away from her?
I don’t think A follows B. That’s a lot of ifs. I’d probably qualify every one of them. But bottom line disagreeing with Fauci in itself isn’t anti-science. The specifics of the disagreement and evidence to back it up dictates whether the statement is anti science. I will say this obsession with Fauci on the right is disturbing. He’s a mortal. He was put in the spotlight to fill a vacuum in leadership, especially our political leadership, did the best he could and did a reasonably good job, while not reaching perfection. Now after the fact he is being vilified because his views are not consistent with a right wing political narrative.
He was the highest paid public employee in the federal government and he told me he represented the science. He put himself on an authoritative pedestal, which I'm sorry, but that comes with responsibility.
policies that have been in place for decades. the primary reason though is the warm weather. do you disagree? can you pelase show me the break in the trend line that DeS is responsible for? Florida population by year, county, race, & more | USAFacts
I am sure there are some people, ie greater than zero, that moved to FL primarily due to lockdowns. FL has been growing for decades prior to lockdowns. Do you have any evidence that large numbers moved to FL due to lockdowns? I don’t really have a dog in this particular fight.
here is the 20 year trend line. again, please show me the deflection point brought about by the great DeS
