And still no mention of Merritt. Is this some close hold secret with her that cannot be revealed for fear of prosecution? Geez.

 

It's weird and 99% reporters will play softball and not ask yet again. It's been mentioned she took a leave but it's been weeks. IMO it's time for Coach to say are you a Gator or are you not... and move on.

 

Very nice start to the season, albeit against questionable competition. Considering the injuries, players leaving, etc. it's nice to be 11-1. Not sure we would be in years past. The easy games are now officially over so we will find out what kind of team this can be. Kyle's play today is very encouraging heading into SEC play.

 

We don't know the reason she's not there. It might be a serious personal issue she's dealing with, and Coach is obviously respecting and protecting her privacy. So let's just give her some room until we know better.

 

No one wants specifics... but after taking weeks off I feel it is a legitimate question for a reporter to ask if she is coming back or not... or a timeline for her possible return.

Leilani is the player with the Boot, Merrit is a mystery and I do not look for Kelley Rae to make any announcement unless somehing 'official' breaks
IMO the team is more close knit and more talent balanced than any in the last few year, combo of having good shooters and some talented post players plus they alllike to play deefense the opposition has't been great but the Miami game showed me a lot to be optimistic about
and the O'Dome had more folks Sunday that in a good while, especially with the students gone on break

 

Definitely had some moments lately where you can see what we can be. If we get healthy and get the consistency of the Miami game we should still have a good season.

 

What is “SID work”?

 

Sports Information Director. The SID does a great job with social media content (lots of Twitter video bling) but in my humble opinion is somewhat lacking in providing actual substantive news on the team.

 

Great early season for the lady Gators and builds on the promise of last year.
