Allow this to refresh your memory: ""Follow the science” has been the battle cry of lockdown supporters since the Covid-19 pandemic began. Yet before March 2020, the mainstream scientific community, including the World Health Organization, strongly opposed lockdowns and similar measures against infectious disease." Opinion | The Fickle ‘Science’ of Lockdowns Behind a paywall, but that's an opinion piece from the Wall Street Journal. Anything else you need, Dory?
That makes no sense? What are you talking about? I was never "against" the vaccine. I waited until August to get mine, but you won't find a post where I was against it. You're making it up.
See that long ass post I gave you (post 219). I can't help it if I provide you with evidence and examples yet all you do is this:
If you report false information on your tax forms that happens to save you millions of dollars and that catches the attention of the IRS, you bet your ass they're going to be investigating you.
Personally dude, I was in line cutting grandma to make sure I was the first to get one. Most people don't know this but I was the first ever person in Florida to get vaccinated. If that's not commitment, I don't know what is. (Yes, this is sarcasm)
So your playing Lawyers game now? I am on a very clear record here. Have been for some time. You guys want compromise, then crucify someone if they do. Not playing along. Sorry.
*Facepalm* You're not compromising. It's your actual belief. And we're pointing out that your belief is incompatible with the stance that embryos/fetuses are no different than children who actually were born.
I mean I got it the week it was FDA approved so... I pushed my parents (early 70's) to get it right away. (Once it had EUA) I think the flu vax is great. I don't get it. I have never had the flu. I do encourage my parents to get it though. I think vitamin C supplements are great. I don't take them because I eat healthy. There are a million medical things that I support, that I haven't done for myself. What I did do was wait until the FDA gave full approval. At that time (same week if I recall) I went and got the jab. You should at least try to be honest in your attempts here man. You didn't used to be like this. You're just throwing spitballs and none of them can stick.
I am compromising. I am putting the trauma of a violent rape victim ahead of my own belief. That is called compromise. Do not under any circumstances confuse that with my sincere belief that a heart beating child is a human being.
That's not a compromise, Tilly. If you offer me $10 and I want $20, a compromise is us agreeing on $15. Both of us give up something. Neither of us get everything we want. You support that exception. It's not a compromise for you to accept an exception you support.
That's one definition, gator_lawyer, here's another: "accept standards that are lower than is desirable." Ideally, all of the unborn would be saved and no woman would be raped. But women who were violently raped who didn't really have any agency in the outcome of pregnancy... that's a difficult situation where something has to give. Obviously you would agree with that which is why you brought it up. It's a difficult example where nobody really wins, and no outcome is truly fair, unless the pregnant mother straight up wants the baby. We can "ignorance is bliss" our way out of a lot of challenging issues. The challenge itself doesn't prove any ignorance to be correct.
trying to reconcile your position that all fetuses are human beings except ones conceived via rape or incest. I understand that you must be conflicted too as the positions are incompatible. either terminating a pregnancy is murder or it isn't. I applaud your compassion for the crime victims but vehemently disagree with your position that abortions within 16 weeks of pregnancy are "ripping babies apart". Especially when so many that take that position are so unwilling to provide support for those that cannot get proper prenatal care or have the means to give a child the healthcare, shelter, and the help they need.
Huh? Tilly believes that it is desirable for all unborn children to be saved and for no women to get raped. Tilly is willing to accept an exception to that desirable outcome in cases where women are raped and become pregnant. That precisely meets the definition of compromise I gave you. It's not a compromise in the sense of a bargain or settlement, but that's only one definition of the word.
Fauci said he supported local mandates, not federal. Do you not support federalism? Shouldnt a community be able to decide how they want to react? As a general rule those states did better against Covid vs the non mandate states, and their GDP didn’t suffer that much comparatively. So I assume you don’t think communities and states should make their own decisions? As to school lockdowns those are ones I think we got wrong in some areas doing them too long. But as to the others, it seems reasonable to me to let communities and states decide, and it is by no means obvious that they are worse off for it. Covid killed a million people. The flu hasn’t killed a million people over the last 20 years combined. Kids get sick and spread it to those who are vunerable. This isn’t difficult to understand. Vaccine mandates, which we have had for decades, are all of a sudden overkill and draconian. Jebus. I dont think vaccine mandates are unreasonable at this point. Kids already have a lot of mandated vaccines. Personally due to all the anti vax Karen’s I’m not sure it’s worth the fight given where we are now but I don’t view them as unreasonable. As a matter of public health I think they are a good policy. You really haven’t followed the evolution of the disease and the science of how vaccines work, have you? Your understanding is so deficient it we can’t even have a conversation. No I have t seen any evidence of lying. The fact that you don’t know how antibodies, TCells and memory cells work, and how the disease evolves into variants makes you completely unreliable on this subject. So what? Joe Biden got it wrong. What does that have to do with a Florida grand Jury? So now you are outraged when the president says stupid stuff but seemed kosher with it daily from 2017-2020. " That was absolutely true when he said it. This was true. . It was 100% effective in a trial of 800 South Africans. Context matters. . It did provide protection against serious illness for up to a year. The antibody protection was pretty robust with the original strain but waned much faster with Delta, which came along after the remarks were made. You’ve taken each one of these out of context. They were all true, when they were said, in the fairly obvious context they were given.
