My guess is both are true. The vax was an important tool for helping millions, while at the same time we have been mislead in other areas. Cant both be true?

To the extent they suppress information in controlled scientific studies they set themselves up for extreme liability, so no I don’t think they do that.

It would be helpful for you to articulate the general standards for calling grand juries, and if you read it have you seen anything to indicate it is a reasonable action. I’m not a lawyer so I can only guess.

The Supreme Court may order the impaneling of a statewide grand jury, in accordance with the petition, for a term of 12 calendar months. Upon petition by a majority of the statewide grand jury or by the legal adviser to the statewide grand jury, the Supreme Court, by order, may extend the term of the statewide grand jury for a period of up to 6 months.

 

and these are realities these days of team politics. DT would have been convicted in both impeachments if facts mattered and DeS would be convicted wrt the immigrant flights if tried. This suit against DeS will be interesting to follow. Nonresponsive bid awarded to political donor to conduct flights not originating in Florida. It will take a special type of judge to twist a temp stop in Florida to having originated in Florida

Yes, and the flu is serious for all of the people who die from the flu. We don't have broad flu shot mandates and we don't shut down the country because the flu is deadly to some people. The entire world of politics is based on risk/reward assessments. Once people reach a certain level of safety, or opportunity for a certain level of safety based on their actions alone, government should generally err on the side of "let people make their own decisions." And generally speaking, people were sufficiently safe when they were vaccinated from COVID. And generally speaking, COVID was less deadly to children than the flu. THAT'S what the science said.

Again, it doesn't logically follow that most people hospitalized from COVID were unvaccinated but the vaccinated required everyone else to be vaccinated as well to be protected from COVID. Vaccine mandates at that point are both draconian and overkill.

Calls for policy should be recognized, as well, I_boy. Or should I have these people a pat on the back because their policy desires were unsuccessful or unrealized? That's stupid. As for as who "these people" are:
1. California: There is a pending statewide student COVID-19 vaccine mandate that has not yet been implemented.
2. Washington D.C.: There is a student COVID-19 vaccine mandate, but enforcement of this mandate is delayed until the 2023-2024 school year.
3. Illinois: On August 26, 2021, Gov. JB Pritzker issued an executive order that required all students at public and private institutions of higher education to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who remained unvaccinated had to be tested for COVID-19 weekly, at a minimum, or would be excluded from the school premises. On July 13, 2022, Gov. Pritzker announced the ending of the vaccinate or test requirement for students at institutions of higher education.
4. New York: December 31, 2021, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that, for the Spring 2022 semester, the COVID-19 vaccine booster would be required for in-person students at the State College of New York and City College of New York campuses.
