"Agree with Dr. Anthony Fauci, not just on the pros and cons of vaccination, but on what that means we should do from a policy perspective, pass policies he wants you to pass, or you're an anti-science conspiracy theorist loon."

    Yes, that is bullying.

I'm not saying the vaccines were a bad thing. Most people who support mandates don't seem to understand the nuance that just because the vaccines are generally good doesn't mean we should compel people to take it, especially in the case of populations that just aren't vulnerable to COVID.

Yet, the government chose to make that risk calculation for everyone regardless of how healthy you are or what other illnesses are riskier to you. Many wanted to force the vaccines on children, who were just generally not at risk from COVID. Demanding healthy young children to take the vaccine is just stupid. "But 715, the teachers, the administrators." Yes, the teachers and administrators had the opportunity to vaccinate themselves. If that's not enough to make them feel safe, they also feel the need to compel healthy young children to get vaccinated, then maybe they should reconsider teaching.

Here's the petition, I'll even quote the part that answers your question. If you want an answer as to how such a law may have been violated, read the rest of the petition.

    https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Vaccine-Grand-Jury-Petition.pdf

Florida law prohibits fraudulent practices, including the dissemination of false or misleading advertisements of a drug and the use of any representation or suggestion in any advertisement relating to a drug that an application of a drug is effective when it is not. § 499.0051(11), Fla. Stat.

I never called for this investigation. I'm just saying to spare me the crocodile tears about alleged frivolous/politically motivated investigations. That's clearly part of the Democratic playbook. Just don't get mad when the shoe is on the other foot.

If this is frivolous, of course I wouldn't have called for it. But that's really the best-case scenario for Democrats, the pharmaceutical companies, and Dr. Fauci. Worst-case scenario is there's a legitimate reason for this, laws were broken, and government officials involved will be held accountable.

I'm paraphrasing the entire mainstream media apparatus for the entirety of the pandemic minus Fox News only slightly.

If that's the standard, you shouldn't have a problem with an investigation here either.

"Florida law prohibits fraudulent practices, including the dissemination of false or misleading advertisements of a drug and the use of any representation or suggestion in any advertisement relating to a drug that an application of a drug is effective when it is not. § 499.0051(11), Fla. When I say the Trump investigations are BS, what I mean is that they were dramatically overblown with his every word and action interpreted in the most overzealous way, where none of that would have happened if Trump was anyone else.

I don't remember any high profile years long conspiracy investigations on Obama for saying he'll have more "flexibility" after the election when talking with Medvedev. Does anybody doubt for a second if Trump used the same words in a conversation with Putin that the entire media would have blown a gasket? There would have been demands for more investigations and possible impeachment. That's my point. If you treat Trump that way but not Obama, that tells me the investigations and the outrage machine around them were politically motivated.

Do you or do you not remember people in response to opposing lockdowns saying "follow the science?"

There have been vaccine mandates since I have been alive, especially for children, including diseases they aren’t likely to get. Are you saying all those should be repealed?

governments frequently do that resulting in regulations and laws

Vaccines are for healthy people to keep them healthy. Do you even understand what vaccines do?

I don’t recall that there were Covid vaccine mandates on children even though vaccine mandates on children are common for school. Again this whole “don’t vaccinate healthy children” indicates you need a primer of what vaccines do. “Generally not at risk” - what does that mean? Children died from the disease, at certain points pediatric hospitals were over capacity from Covid infections, and many children suffered with long Covid.

If many reconsidered teaching there would not be enough teachers. You completely fail to realize that one of the purposes of vaccines is to protect others around you, not just yourself, right?

What fraud or false information has been disseminated?

Again you are ok with it because it is payback for investigating your political hero. This is totally frivolous and an abuse of power for political gain. Hell even Trump supported the vaccines.

So you don't remember people saying "follow the science" in response to opposing lockdowns.

In that case, you remind me of Dory from Finding Nemo.

No. Most also weren't rushed out like the COVID vaccine.

Yes, they prevent people from contracting serious illnesses and/or prevent the spread of serious illnesses.

Here's the problem, COVID was not a serious risk for the vast majority of people under the age of somewhere between 18 and 25, and even that might be a conservative estimate.

Nobody tried to get all of the kids vaccinated? That memory is really killing you dude.

Yes, plural children died from the disease. People also have died from the cold and the flu. Doesn't exactly tell me much.

If we were to lock everyone down just because some hospital somewhere was overcapacity, we'd never go outside.

Yes, I do understand that point. The problem is that in the case of the COVID vaccine, it ended up not seriously preventing transmission, especially in the later variants. So, people were generally protected enough when vaccinated. Although it doesn't hurt YOU to have others around you vaccinated, it just wasn't necessary. And it also is much more of an inconvenience for the vaccinated to compel everyone else to vaccinate than it is for just bear the consequences of your own risks.

I'm sorry, but the inconsistent logic here is just astounding.

"Almost everyone in the hospital due to COVID is unvaccinated."

"The vaccinated need the unvaccinated to get vaccinated in order to adequately protect themselves from COVID."

Read the petition, like I said. Stop being lazy.

As a worst-case scenario it is. So were half to all of the Trump investigations. And for that, I'm not crying for anyone who pushed politically motivated investigations for getting what's coming to them.

I think it's certainly possible laws were violated, perhaps even probable. If that's all it takes to trump political motivations that spark investigation (as Democrats justified Trump investigations), I'd say that threshold has been met here as well.

I find their lives equal and a rape victim is very likely to live a devastated life, or worse chose not to live a life. All at something that was forced upon her with violence.

That you cant see the fact that I can
    1. View an unborn child with a heartbeat as fully human, while...
    2. Still sympathetically understand the rape victims life may also be at stake

... Is just an intentional twist of facts on your part.

I do not view an unborn human as anything less than human, bit I place equal value on the woman victim and thing that something has to give in those tragic extremes.

None of that excuses the callous elimination of countless millions of humans in our country over the past 50.
    years.

My position on abortion is very clear. If an action of your choosing led to a pregnancy, and that pregnancy is not viewed by doctors as a high risk to your health, then you should allow that tiny human its chance to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

the efficacies and the side effects of the vaccine have been studied throughout the world by peer reviewed panels and facts were published. Billions of vaccines later, the facts have been well proven. The facts are that the side effects were minimal and much less dangerous than not taking the vaccine and there is no doubt in any rational person's mind about that. That is settled science that no GJ is going to change.

I have a problem with wasting more Florida tax money to pursue a false agenda in support of political brownie points when such indisputable facts are present just like his private police force to try and find voter fraud and his illegal immigrant flights and his attacks on Disney and university faculty. All tremendous wastes of taxpayer money trying to enhance his political standing with the fringe element of the party that he is hoping will compel him to a primary victory.

I don't recall Obama's people meeting with the Russians prior to the election to coordinate a public disinformation campaign or Obama's company having extensive ties with Russian "financers" of his projects. I don't recall Obama asking for Russian help in digging up dirt on his opponent or threatening to withhold foreign aid if a foreign gubmnt didn't produce dirt on his political opponent. If those elements were present, he would have rightfully been skewered for his comments. As is, I believe he did take widespread flak for his hot mic comments. O's arrogance left him believing that he could help reform Russia and Iran and history proven him wrong on both counts. Same with his support for the Arab spring and his refusal to hold Assad accountable when he crossed the red line. But his arrogance was never illegal, just wrong policy with drastically negative consequences

And I am no fan of Obama and his quasi-personal attacks on those he disagreed with either. His tendency to subtly "burn the cons" with quick witted, sharp jabs that endeared him to his base did nothing to help the country learn to work together and just helped to alienate a large percentage of people that likely form the core of the MAGA movement.

The vaccines got full fda approval in August 2021. Bidens mandates were in November 2021. Again vaccine mandates are common.

Define “not a serious risk”. You acknowledge that vaccines help to reduce spread, but keep going back to asserting not a serious risk. So what at this point are you actually opposing, and please cite specific actions and policies, not made up quotes.

    .
Of course people recommended vaccination of children. I don’t recall any Covid vaccine mandates of children.

    .

It was in the hundreds, which I guess technically falls in “plural”. They also recommend vaccines for the flu for children. Children can spread the disease to those who are in greater danger.

    What?

Yes the effectiveness against transmission did wane in time, and with additional variants. That didn’t make vaccine mandates at the time inappropriate when they still offered some protection against transmission.

At one point that was true.

Ok I guess we are making up quotes again. Perhaps you didn’t realize that certain people are more at risk than others. Oh but wait, you do, because you said younger people have less risk. I guess you forgot that after you typed it.

Give me an example of a law that may have been violated? Seriously I have no idea.

Whether the vaccine is overall good or bad or whether the risk exceeds the reward is sort of irrelevant as to whether the law I listed was violated. The question is whether there were "fraudulent practices, including the dissemination of false or misleading advertisements of a drug and the use of any representation or suggestion in any advertisement relating to a drug that an application of a drug is effective when it is not." It's also worth noting that effectiveness can mean a variety of things here, including effectiveness of transmission prevention, which at best was not quite completely understood, at worst was overtly lied about to the public. I'd say based on the fear that the pandemic caused, probably somewhere in between, maybe a little bit of both.

As far as this being a waste of tax money. I fail to see how this perhaps politically motivated investigation is a waste of tax money, but not the politically motivated investigations against Trump. For God's sakes, Trump was impeached a SECOND time one week before he was forced to leave office anyways because his term was expiring.

I'm willing to acknowledge that this is all a very ugly game, but DeSantis did not start this, he didn't even come close to starting this.

Many reasonable and grounded thoughts here. But I disagree that if Obama just did "everything" Trump did, he would've been treated like Trump. No two situations are identical.

I also don't think Trump was actually asking the Russians on live TV at a rally to investigate Hillary Çlinton. He wasn't actively or actually negotiating with the Russians on that front. He was just mouthing off talking crap to his base. Unpresidential and unprofessional? Sure. But not really a conspiracy. Though I can see those words taken at face value without context being seen that way, which goes back to my point of treating every Trump word and action with overzealousness. It's like people were waiting for a reason to investigate him, which is not how any country should run, especially when the investigations are politically motivated.

With respect to misinformation campaign with the Russians, this isn't Obama, but the Hillary Clinton campaign conducted opposition research in the form of the Steele dossier. The Clinton campaign paid Fusion GPS which paid Christopher Steele for a report with a plethora of false information that happened to politically aid the Clinton campaign at the expense of Donald Trump.

A lot of the investigations into Trump were sparked by mainstream hatred of Donald Trump.

If you think November 2021 was the first time people were pushing for mandates, your memory is once again failing you.

In layman's terms for this particular case, if the flu is more likely to kill you, then it's not a serious risk.

If you don't recall calls to mandate vaccination of children, then your memory is failing you.

Yes, they recommend vaccines for the flu for children. We generally don't compel flu vaccinations. We generally let private individuals make that risk calculation.

    I disagree.

And it was generally true all throughout the window when we had vaccines widely available and people were dying at high rates from COVID.

I already did and I gave you a link for the full petition which you still are refusing to read. Like a horse with water, I can only lead you to the petition, I can't force you to read it.
