    Riley
All walked into similar or worse situations and produced in year 1 big time. And if you say Riley had Williams I’d say credit to Riley as he got him to transfer there.

That's right, my brother. Our way vs their way. I shall be there, and I am saying you will, too. Bring it on.

Lots of generous comments here willing to be patient 3, 4, 5 years for rebuild... But we are in a new era of College Football with the Portal and NIL.... Nothing should be written in stone if there is not a marked improvement on the field in all aspects next year then a quick move by Administration is not unreasonable. (That said-- ADs future hangs with Napier's). BN and company are not proven winners in a Power 5 and success in a minor conference does not lead to success in the SEC. Scott Frost is a cautionary tale -brilliant at UCF and a complete bust at Nebraska. He was given 4+ years but it should have been clear mid way through his tenure that he was not going to cut it- and he was a native son and Cornhusker grad. Napier is not a home grown so the clock should be ticking right now. Nothing short of 8-9 wins next year will cut it.

Year two change is still exceedingly unlikely, as that gets directly to the issue of who can you hire given that sort of expectation level?

Any year after that a change has more to do with improvement or expectation of improvement vs. who might be available as a replacement at that very moment.

IMO the biggest problem with being on the hot seat for any length of time has always been that it impedes your ability to get the players you want. Too many people advising against them going with someone who may not be long for the program.

Which is why I have always believed that the quality of being a good recruiter is secondary to the quality of being a good coach (defined by the ability to get maximum performance from whatever players are available.) Scoring high in both is obviously better, but a deficit in coaching rarely if ever is overcome by recruiting.

I didn't know what to think at the beginning of the year.
I still don't know what to think.
But given what we currently have on the roster, barring something crazy in the portal and at the end of the recruiting cycle, I haven't seen this staff do anything that makes me think next year is going to be much better.

If you have to quote yourself in order to get out an inane point maybe just don't bother.

    In my head--- UF
I want success not firings. Stuck with Sharkboy until the death threats.

Which ones were gone in 2 years?

    Saw Mullen quit.

Didn’t write to Fuchs, or the AD. My unhappiness was much worse IRL

I want this guy to succeed.

So, you are saying that Gator fans are spoiled? With what justification? There has been precious limited success for at least a dozen years now.
I suspect that UF is dangerously close to being considered a coaching graveyard since Urban; if not already.
I don't know what went into the hiring of CBN but can't help but notice the resume of the coaches that the likes of USC and LSU hired about the same time. It does not appear that UF can compete for the big names.
OTH, coaching game time decicions rarely win game; although egregious ones might lose the occasional close one. Better, more disciplined, and focused player win games.
Anyway, UF better support CBN's building efforts now, or it will gete much worse.

So which of your coaches would you have kept? You make it seem like patience with a bad coach will somehow lead to good results

I've liked all our past coaches. I'm tired of seeing our team loose.

We saw yesterday what we had behind AR and how the O didn’t move without him, I guess that’s why

    Agree
I don’t care how bad our rooster supposedly was due to Mullen it was way better than what Vandy and USF had.
USF felt like a loss and Vandy was, never should lose to Vandy like that.

More of what options he had in this case.

Sometimes short term goals help lead to long term goals.
Like just winning a football game.

We are dangerously close to becoming a coaching graveyard.

As far as competing for big names, it's complicated. These big names are smart. They are not going somewhere they think they might fail. Unless, a lot of money is shown to them.

Unfortunately, we don't want to pay for them. And that goes for hoops too.

I get the argument that if you cycle coaches you get foster issues… but with the portal- that can actually give you an advantage now. If something isn’t working it’s better sooner rather than later. I agree auburn looks like a mess but they cycled until they got a guy who gives them an advantage and they will be winning 10-12 a lot sooner than we will. I’ve been pro Billy. Wait and see and worst. Gotten into HUGE arguments with family who never thought he was the guy…but Tell me - where does Billy give us an advantage? I can’t see one area where Billy gives us an edge. That is concerning. I can look at guys like Freeze, Reilly, Kiffen, Fickell, Chadwell, Clawson…. And see where they can overcome talent deficits and give you
An edge on the field. I don’t see that with Billy
