Trump’s Badly Photoshopped NFTs Appear to Use Photos From Small Clothing Brands

Over the last 24 hours, fans of ex-President Donald Trump have sat huddled in their chairs, waiting with bated breath for a supposed announcement the once tweeter-in-chief promised would blow their socks off. He posted a video to his Truth Social page showing an image of him in a kind of superhero garb, sporting pecs he most certainly does not have, as laser beams shoot from his eyes. What could this mean? What apocalypse was coming?

On Thursday the grand surprise was finally revealed and it was nothing but another horrific NFT project that, in Trump’s words, featured “amazing ART of my Life & Career!” These “digital trading cards” are indeed just another cash grab NFT project, but the low quality images and the company in charge of the project are a more complicated enigma.

Each NFT sells for a total $99, and some are limited as single copies, while other NFTs are available in two, five, seven, or 10 copies. There are a total of 45,000 cards in the initial release, but even more, one big fan of Mr. Trump will be “guaranteed” a ticket to some future gala dinner with him, ostensibly at his Mar a Lago residence in South Florida. The auction even promised to pay for transportation. So yes, spend $4,455 and you could also have a sit down with the former president himself. Although we can guarantee you he will not look nearly as slim as he does in these trading cards.

The images were so lazy that based on reverse image searches they were edited photos scraped off the internet. It’s unclear if they were edited by hand or perhaps crafted using AI image generation, though the one image of Trump in hunter garb bears a very distinct resemblance to waders crafted by Banded, a hunting apparel company.

Also keep in mind that members of the Cult of the Donald do not read newspapers. Maybe if Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity or the clowns of Fox and Friends said something similar it could have an impact.

If You Invested $1,000 In Donald Trump NFTs, Here's How Much You'd Have Now (msn.com)

For $1,000, a person could have bought 10 of the Donald Trump NFTs.

That same $1,000 investment in Donald Trump NFTs would be worth $5,770.50 today based on a current floor price of 0.4899 ETH for the collection.

This represents a return of 477.1% in two days for anyone who invested in the Donald Trump NFTs.

Time will tell if the NFTs hold their value, but after two days, it's easy to see the strong demand for the NFTs of the former president.

    I'm just shocked

Some Artists & Collectors Are Pumping Up Their NFT Prices, Study Finds

A new report from the blockchain data platform Chainalysis finds that a number of traders are selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to themselves to artificially inflate their value. The practice, known as “wash trading,” has been long banned for the exchange of securities and futures.

Through blockchain analysis, researchers identified wash trading of NFTs by honing in on sales that were made between digital wallets owned by the same person. They found 262 users who each conducted over 25 wash trades, with one zealous wash trader selling to and buying from themselves 830 times.

It's already fallen by about 50% to a floor price of 0.27 ether ...

Trump is still making bank, though... Open Sea shows 6081 ether in trade volume, and Trump gets 10% of that, so about $7 million more to Trump over that last 24 hours.

Trump thanks his loyal suckers ... er, I mean subjects...

Exactly. It was never going to be Trump left holding the bag on this, he has no investment. It'll be some of his suckers down the line. That's kind of been the gist of NFTs. It's just a game of hot potato
