Yep, been saying it for weeks. I can name plenty that walked into similar or worse situations this year and won big.

My biggest concern is I don’t see urgency. If it’s important to coach it’ll be important to players. Problem is kids don’t see urgency and fire from him.

    You said

"If this program never becomes relevant again it’s because this fan base doesn’t have the stomach or the patience to go through the steps necessary for it to become relevant again"

sure sounds like you are assigning blame.

More importantly you are alleging that we are worse than any other fanbase, which is total bunk.

With coaching hiring and firing these days, timing matters. Timing around the Portal and ESD.

Too late in the process (or if you aren’t immediately in with 20 feet) you get left behind and lose an entire year.

That is where going with a big name, with big connections matters. Intensity matters.

And the improvement from the running game was largely because Naquan was benched when it was very obvious he wasn’t half as good as ETN or Montrel even in game one….but the coach decided to go by seniority not performance which once again falls to a coaching failure.

Maybe you're right but our offense was actually not that bad this year. Even after yesterdays performance, to use the word very loosely, UF's offense is still ranked 38th, although surely that will fall a bit as other teams add their 13th game. The defense, however, is ranked 96th and 128th (3rd from last) in 3rd down defense. I'd think that is a much larger problem. The 38th ranked offense when paired with a defense even in the top 50% would have likely beat Vanderbilt, TN and FSU which would have been a much, much different season.

The offense has been pretty good.

    Shane,
Everyone hates this year's result. Let's see what signing day and a second year brings. Hopefully for all our sakes it's a nice upward trajectory at many levels.

The OL penalties have worsened for some reason. Even Alabama has trouble here. Plenty to work on off season for sure.

Spurrier didn’t have an offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach.

    It can be done.

prob too adv for my amateur FB mind, but it seemed we had long snap counts & lots of pre-snap shifting. It seems that that makes it harder on the OL

Why did JK get no snaps at CB yesterday? Injured? Played with cast early in year and had a pick 6. Anyone heard anything?

I’m happy to give Billy three years. But I’m not going to pretend that his first year was anything less than a dumpster fire.
