You are so full of BS. This statement is factually wrong. For a guy who proudly states you didn’t even bother to watch the game yesterday, how about you stop flooding the board with bullshit posts
Had a lot of firsts this year, mostly negative, so not sure why the scoring streak was so important....could have just added that to the list
Well, he wasn't that far off. According to Rivals: 2018: 17th (3.78 Star average) 2019: 8th (3.64) 2020: 7th (3.72) 2021: 10th (3.55) *****: 4 ****: 54 ***: 30 Perhaps they were unbalanced, or didn't work out as they should have (much like SOS' 2000 class), but his numbers were pretty high - on paper. Billy's classes: 2022: 20th (3.11) 2023: 11th (3.90) - potential class
Good back and look at the ranking of his classes. It’s there in black and white. Those ranking also didn’t include some standout transfers like Grimes and Grenard. watching yesterday has nothing to do with anything I’ve posted. As if you’re not allowed to post unless you watch every second of every game. God forbid I miss watching our RBs get 28 yards against a team that we knew would stack the box. Sad our online that had 4/5 starters with a great run game for much of the year forgot how to block against a pac 12 team. I’ll just assume your anger is placed at me because your as pissed off about how this team has gotten worse and worse this year as most of us and you’re realizing the guy we hired may not be the home run that some have claimed since day one. Don’t shoot the messenger man.
And that doesn’t include transfers like Grimes, Shorter(not a standout but will play on sunday) or Grenard
nd Calling Napier a mid level unknown is typical of the garbage you spew. You didn't even watch the freaking game and you come here to spout your BS about your brilliant observations. Where did you get your data that informed your incisive takes? Same place I guess that led you to concluded Napier was unknown. I know it's a waste of time to engage with someone like you but made the mistake of reading your posts. I don't plan on doing that again.
It does us no good to compare 2022 Billy Napier to 2018-2020 Dan Mullen. If Billy was as good as 2018-2020 Dan Mullen, I think most of us would be happy right now. You have to compare him to 2021 Dan Mullen who was likely the Dan Mullen we were going to get moving forward because the dude checked out. Let's see how Billy closes on signing day, let's see how he does with the portal, and let's see how the team does next season. All we can do right now is speculate. And frankly, there's not much we could've done differently at the end of last season. Like it or not, we've hitched our wagon to Napier, might as well give him a chance.
I watched every game this year except yesterday. Honestly with all the opt outs and transfers UF had little chance yesterday so there really wasn’t much point in it. Napier was a mid level HC, who got fired from his OC job at Clemson. The suggestions that he is Sabanesque just is people hoping that we got the next Saban or Smart. He had none of the Saban resume. He may earn that in time but thus far he hasn’t. Turning around ULL while is nice it isn’t anything like turning around a D powerhouse. Please in your expert opinion what is it that makes you so confident he is a great coach? Thus far I haven’t seen much in the way of in game adjustments that are very dynamic. You could point to not running the ball vs FSU in Q3 after jamming it down their throat the whole first half but that wouldn’t help your case. The 2 minute management has been poor at best and it’s been that way the whole year. (I know in September I was a jerk for bringing it up, damn it never went away). We better hope for top 5 classes(and few misses), because we will need the best players on the field to beat upper level teams let alone Top teams. We will have a better idea in a year and I pray things turn the right way but thus far most people with any football IQ second guessing the hire. Finally you could attempt to discuss why you think what I’m post is wrong rather than call names and actually have a discussion, seems like your a bit emotional about any criticism of Napier, are you his agent?
Agree But there are clearly some things that need to be done in the off-season. We need to close a top class and pick up key players from the portal.
What the hell was with the TO when OS had a 2nd & 2 with about 2 mins left in the first 1/2? Did he think our D would hold them to less than 2 yards in 2 plays? weird
I agree with this to an extent but I don't think there are many real philosophical issues. Gotta get cleaner execution and if that requires changing some things up schematically to fit what will hopefully be upgraded talent then I'm all for it.
More importantly it doesn't include the guys that never contributed, but why deal with reality when we can spout nonsense and pat ourselves on the back for "objective criticism?"
Hall was a good coach. The problem with Hall, is that he was not willing to hob nob with some of the Bull Gator donors. The distance he kept with them and losing some crucial games put him on the hot seat. What sealed Hall's position with the Gators was Spurrier wanting to exit Duke and to be the HBC at UF.
I noted that as a mistake on first watch too. A good scouting report would have shown that saving us clock on a 2nd and 2 is a really bad idea. I think all of our backs (including Colletto) average 4+ ypc.
