I don't mind giving Billy 5 years as long and there aren't any issues that can drag the team down. Get this team more talented to the point where they can challenge for the 12 team CFP in a few seasons and go from there.

I see that the expert coaching staffs from Gator Country message board has assembled to break down the game film and offer their expert opinions on Gator football. To top it all off they are doing it from the comforts of their own living room sofa. This program is going to take time to rebuild and it's not going to happen in 1 or 2 years. It's going to take 2 to 3 years of staking talent and building quality debt. So just sit back and allow Billy to take this team back to the top!

I’m just a sofa coach, but I believe I could have coached this team to 0-4 vs. rivals, a loss to Vandy and a blowout loss to a team called the Beavers.

The problem is that you are the only person that believes that.

Duh. Which is why I didn't say anything of the sort.

Maybe, but the only data point that matters is our sample of one.

Concerning special teams and coaching in general. A great coach always has his head in the game and is responsible for the actions of his assistants. One thing really stood out for me in this game and it was the fake punt on forth down. Napier should have been all over the special teams coach to be ready for a fake. After South Carolina, the whole staff should have been prepared. I said this on another thread, but it really illustrates my point. I remember watching Mack Brown count special teams players and notice they were a man down when Oklahoma was beating Texas by 30 points. We couldn't even prepare for a fake punt after being burned a couple of games ago. The whole game turned on that one play. Stop them, we're only down ten with great field position. That's coaching and it starts from the top down.

Completely agree on points. Thanks for the concise representation of how a lot of this fan base feels.

Someone else posted this elsewhere. When I first read it, I shook my head, then I pondered it a bit. I guess you could argue UF was worse off, but just how much??

“Brian Kelly inherited a roster with 39 scholarship players, won 9 games, beat BAMA and won the SEC West in year 1. Florida wasn’t any worse off than LSU. No excuses.”

This Gator edition was no better than the Mullen 2021 team that reportedly quit on him.

Or think they are smart enough watching TV and reading Q-football nonsense. Just sayin'.

Sure, we’re couch potatoes. But we can see RB’s running into stacked lines, WR’s being blanketed, punters running into blockers, QB not minding blind side rush, OL’s jumping, etc.

I know. The comp is in the time it took building the program. And if you took Michigan and put them in SEC- it would’ve been 6-7, 7-6, 8-5 etc until they figured it out. This Michigan team could win 10-11 and compete… so the comp is reasonable

Ok Dad. Why don’t you contact the AD , maybe you can enlighten him with your insights. I see the free board is filled with morons also.

True, but why do we allow wr's to run free, make uncontested pass catches and allow opposing qbs to look like Joe Montana. All year long. I thought having the coach from LSU to coach our dbs would result in better play. The DC coaches safeties and they play like he coaches, awful.
We played a team that excels running the ball yet our pass D was well like it has been all year, ugly.

The team plays like his demeanor. That style works better in the pros than college. He is so low keyed that it has imo very little impact on the players and college ball feeds on emotion.

    In my head--- UF
I know you are adding levity.

It’s a message board so can’t expect silence right?

New day today. ESD, NSD, portal signings (rollercoaster), spring game, new DC.

I’m a fan. Not taking up knitting.

I saw from my boat (65” TV, 4k misery) that the extra practices didnt help, and that the last 2 minutes our coach apparently suffers TIAs.

    Were there bright spots?

Never said it was anyone’s fault. Just that all the knee jerk Nancy’s are an embarrassment and don’t have the stomach for an obvious rebuild. It’s not arguable.

I could have coached the team to 0-4 vs rivals, a loss to Vandy and a crushing loss to a team called Beavers. And I would have done it for half the money.
