Post Bowl Game Thoughts on CBN

Finally- some comments focusing on the AD and his string of poor hires. Facility improvements is one thing and he's done fine there-- but that is thanks to the boosters who have pushed for it -- but the AD's key job as CEO of the UAA is hiring the right people to ensure on the field excellence... Stricklin has failed miserably in that department on almost every hire, including some that ended in scandals. I am not confident that we are on the path to excellence and certainly not to elite status under Napier and friends.

 

A slam dunk hire? Auburn did not offer him and lsu took a pass.

Billy dannovan is a curse to Florida. Every ad is hell bent to hire a billyd, muschamp, Napier, Mike white and Todd golden. There is just one billyd.

 

Stricklin goes as Napier goes (unless there is further fallout from Newbauer and Amato, or a new incident along those lines).

His fate is 100% tied to Napier’s.

 

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results.

I would guess that we replace Couch or get him some additional support. No way we can keep it going as is.

 

Having our last AD still in the house overlooking SS is not a good thing. He is why we are here.

 

On the flipside, our DB’s got in some hard hits.

 

Foley’s title as AD emeritus is honorary. He is living in New England. The man knew not to hang around.

 

And IF that was the case, then WHY did we even participate in the bowl ???? Is it a ‘reward’ for the kids to go get their hats handed to them on a national television stage ?? Is it a reward to end the season for the second year in a row with a losing record ? If it was for the bling and gifts they get, then some of our boosters shoulda put care packages together for the team members and we shoulda stayed home, let the team get ready for winter workouts and the Coaches put everything in to getting ready to harvest quality players from the portals! Good grief.

 

Losing lots of OL talent after this year. 67 sure isn't the answer as a replacement. It could be tough sledding in 2023 for the ground game unless they find another portal jewel like Torrance.

 

RB and that is it. Interesting that the two best were not here in 2021.

 

I don’t think this season results are far removed from what many anticipated. 7-5 seemed to be what I saw the most for predictions. The Utah win really messed things up IMO. The following two games were really the norm. Vandy is really the outlier.

We all have our concerns about some decisions and play calling.

What BN does this off season will tell us a lot about how he operates. I think he needs an OC and a change on ST. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if that doesn’t happen.

We will see what happens next season.

I really hate chasing the next big coaching hire.

UF has needed a cleaning for a while. Lot of shit stained toilets in the house.

Give me a two game improvement next season. A top 5 recruiting class for 2024 and I’m good.

 

We fired Hall after 4.2 years and Zook after 3 and got Spurrier and Meyer. Its about getting the right coach in place and whether you have to fire 5 to do it just means you made a lot of poor choices first. Becoming a moribund program has a lot more to do with our administration than the coaching anyway.

This is the concern for me. There was no game film prior to that game. This also is consistent with our 3rd quarter struggles. Rarely if ever have we come out in the 3rd and performed better than the opponent on offense or defense. And I'm not one of the fans jumping ship or bashing at every turn.

 

And just because a first year coach had a terrible first season doesn't mean he'll become an elite coach for the long haul either. I would suggest that the former might correlate better than the latter.

 

Particularly when you have no idea of their true affiliation.
