30-3 and the three was a last minute field goal. Sorry to the Napier apologists, but that is unacceptable. Look at our 3rd quarter performance which is when coaches make in game half time adjustments. That is coaching. This is the same coach that Clemson and Dabo fired as OC, as Dabo determined he could not win championships with Billy as his OC. Clemson won after Billy was fired. Better dominate recruiting and portal as will not win games with superior coaching like Spurrier could do.

Which fire was bad? Which fire was too soon?

The problem isn’t that we are firing coaches too soon, it’s that we are hiring the wrong coaches.

For those at home sticking with a bad coach isn’t going to produce good results either.

Or some of us are smart enough to see glaring issues that have not only not improved all year but gotten worse.

Your saying Napier was a better hire than Riley or Kelly?

Hmm..funny..people complained when Muschamp went ballistic on the sidelines , wanted to fight a fan at uga game and busted his knuckles on a white board at halftime and when Macelwain chewed out Fred Taylor's son on the sidelines..so now that Napier is even toned and calm on the sidelines..we're upset about that too..

At this point, after year 1, we really don't know how this era will unfold. All we know is that we got off to a real bad start. Year 2 and 3 will determine how good of a hire we made. In many ways, this off season is more important than the season that just finished. It will be interesting to see what 'adjustments' are made to our way of doing things, staff, schemes, etc.
I believe that CBN should be given a chance to evaluate and adjust. Nobody knew that Kirby would turn out the way he did after their first year, and the same could be said for Mullen.
I remain hopeful that CBN is the guy. It's all up to him. Who would have thought a coach like Ed O would change their program (not talking about the multitude of negatives) by making 2 decisions... Hiring Joe Brady and getting Burrow from the Portal, both of which brought him an NC.
We will see how this unfolds.

I would agree, he has to be given time thats the only way. If CBN was fired after 2 seasons we could very easily end up in a Nebraska situation where the program just keeps sinking. However if CBN doesn’t work out this is on Strickland and he needs to go! Too many consistent bad hires at that point

Strickland as of yet has not hired a coach in any sport that is no more than average at best.

    Recap/Concerns

First back to back losing seasons since 78-79. Beat Vandy and that doesn’t happen.

First time losing to all rivals in same season since??

Lost last 3 games of season

    Defense still bad

    Offensive play calling

    In game adjustments

We hear all the talk about portal help coming but last year we got no linebackers, DT’s, Safeties, or tight ends. All areas we needed. What’s to say we get 10-11 big time additions in the portal that we need? Have to attempt to replace the following out of portal:
    Dexter
    Shorter
    Miller
    AR
    Dean
    Torrence
Gotta pick up at least 1 tight end ( FSU) already has picked up 2 good ones.

6-6 team next year unless there are major changes.

Orgeron was able to swallow pride and make changes. He was very urgent and intense. Sometimes I worry Billy isn’t urgent enough.

This right here is starting to rear its ugly head.

Stricklin has done well in the facilities and fundraising department, and is by all accounts “not a jerk” to work with. Not sure anyone has said he is “awesome to work with” in any way other than lip service.

But his record for hiring coaches at UF is by far not looking good.

Newbauer: complete disaster on the court and a huge scandal off the court. We may still have repercussions to feel from this.

Amato: another disaster on and off the field.

Mullen: his hand-picked golden child flamed the heck out worse than anyone could have imagined.

Napier: shows promise but Strickling knows UF isn’t a place for patience.

Golden: way too early to tell in any way, shape, or form. But hey, he beat F$U right away so that scores him some points. :D

    Gymnastics coach: looking good.

Can’t remember if he hired the swim coach or not.
