Anthony Richardson should be the #1 pick in the NFL draft...

Didn’t the NFL fix this a few years back by instituting “rookie contracts”? I’m sure 1st rounders still get paid, but it’s not ridiculous like how it was when they were demanding huge contracts - i.e rookie 1st round picks demanding as much as high end proven veterans.

I always liked the (Belichik?) strategy of trading down for more picks, but with rookie payscale it’s not like using the pick is going to destroy a teams cap space either. The only dumb move to me is giving up picks to move up a few spots or giving up too many picks in general. That means whatever you traded for better be a 100% home run or you destroyed the franchises future for nothing.

TJ - If he's still there after the Falcons pick do you think the Jets, Giants and Commanders (maybe even the Bucs) try to trade up in front of the Panthers to get him?

If that's truly his mentality, it seems like he would be even LESS motivated once the guaranteed money is ensured.

    That’s right.
One of many reasons I think he will do poorly.
Great competitors never turn it off.

I’ve never been one to analyze the NFL or NFL draft. I don’t actively root for any team, and other than wishing our Gator players well in the league and rooting for the Super Bowl team with the highest number of Gators in it, I do not follow the NFL. I know what I read on here and catch online.

I can tell you AR’s interviews so far have been the Texans, Saints, Giants, and Panthers.

Got mixed feelings about him in the NFL. I don’t think AR has developed as a leader or QB due to the fact he’s been told to focus on the NFL since his athletic talent was discovered. Goal has always been NFL, NFL, NFL. Lots of telling info about his character and personality during his time at UF and Eastside HS. So part of me thinks he’s been coached to “get to the NFL” that once he gets there he won’t know what to do. Now don’t say play football as that is the simplistic answer. What I mean is if the original goal was accomplished and you clearly had no other goals along the way (never spoke of SEC title, NC, etc), what is there to do now?

He will be worse than Justin Fields but without the Top 5 contract.

Still not a bad way to cash in and be set for life. But many years from now, may just be a spokesperson for Gainesville Outback restaurants to pay the bills after possibly blowing through the NFL money after his handlers/advisers, family members and friends/cousins he did not know he had, get their cut

Amazing. He wasn’t the only one and once again we were stuck with a team like when last year. Same BS. This didn’t used to happen. College Football is losing its soul.

We didn’t lose the Vandy game due to AR. He had over 400 yards of offense.

On coaching. No adjustments made by our offensive staff. Keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Stoops won that one.

I wish him luck. I don’t know what “percent” he played at. There wasn’t a meter on the screen during games, and I’m not good at guessing. I want him to light up the field with whatever team he ends up with. I won’t be watching, though. The NFL… yuk.

If true though, what risk is higher, a freak accident going all out, looking subpar to scouts, or worst of all, looking like a sand-bagger?

I certainly don’t want a UF QB stinking up any NFL team’s field… That’s bad advertising.

If Richardson goes in the first round, he is liable to get a General Manager and Coaches fired. He has shown no leadership abilities. A Tebow he ain't.
