The progress did not happen in terms of W-L. But did it happen in terms of culture? Thats a harder question for us to answer. BN claims that it has improved.

Pre season we were all looking for signs of improvement, not just in wins but in things like discipline, sound fundamentals, execution, determination, no quit, grit etc. Looking at the season as a whole we saw some of that and a painful lack of those things at other times. Recruit like hell, load up from the portal, develop those players, and if this staff can coach 'em up let's hope the 2023 team at least goes in the right direction. If were are sitting here a year from now at 6-7 and not even putting up a fight, then I just don't know.

For most of the season, some of the most common reason's for hope was his system and upgrading talent to fit said system.

I know I'm not an optimistic person, but man it is really hard to get excited about the system that has been on display this year. On both sides of the ball for much the season and not even going to touch the clock management and get that stink on me.

I may be wrong, and it would be great to be wrong, but I simply do not see UF out talenting the top of the SEC. Top 10 recruiting class and how many SEC teams are ahead of UF?

So, if you can't out talent your opponent, and your system isn't a world beater, where is your advantage coming from?

Seems like it would take one hell of a recruiting effort to mask overall strategy and playcalling decisions.

Well, if the OL cannot run block, it does not matter what play you call....IMO. Someone like Mullen maybe able to cover-up these deficiencies and improve our record from 6-6 t maybe 7-5. But that will not help us win championships IMO.

A blue blood program like we are/should be should NEVER lose to an average at best Vandy program. Never.

This isn’t the NFL. All games are important. If not, go coach Louisiana.

I'll wait. This season wasn't inspiring other than the run game. I don't have a problem waiting for the man implementing his players/system, but this season hurt my optimism.

Lots of comments saying "patience"... it's a process... a work in progress, Napier will get it done. Well- with the talent on hand in the first game- we beat a top ten Utah team that is playing in the Rose Bowl .... fast forward and this coaching staff has managed in a few short months to lose to every rival, plus UK and Vandy and with near losses to Mizzou and USF... There is a song by Talking Heads from early 1990s that encapsulates what many are feeling... "We're on the Road to Nowhere" .... and that my friends is where we are heading under this coaching staff. Napier is in over his head- I am near certain Mullen would have come up with enough wrinkles to keep this game respetable End the season with three consecutive losses to Vandy, FSU and completely blown out by a 3 loss Pac 12 team You own it BN.

Exactly why my confidence is so low. Running the football was UF's greatest offensive strength this year and it isn't even debatable. Yet the OL line is legitimately discussed as a deficiency needing to be covered up for? Forget progress, I would settle for a lack of regression for the OL.

And to stay ahead of the excuses, 4 of the 5 OL today were regular starters throughout the year. Barber, White, Equakun, and Tarquin.

First BN will be here for at least 2 more years if not a bit longer. At some point we have to stop the revolving door of firing hc's. Having said that, I expected a whole lot more from BN and the entire staff. There is so much to gripe about and it would take pages to write. Time will tell if he is the right fit but not a good start in my book.
I had a meeting tonight and had the game taped, but after the first quarter, I actually could care less. My enthusiasm level for next year is close to the point of not caring whether I watch us play or not. That is a first.

Curious what all these staffers/analysts do, other than have their pockets lined as Billy’s friends.

You’d think with this many minds looking at the games, at recruiting, and at the program at large that we’d have some sort of offensive and defensive identify, see some sort of weakness exploited, and be able to point towards something markedly improved from game 1 to game 13.

We have 4 starters with lots of experience on the OL, coached by 2 coaches and the OL was completely obliterated. It was an utter mismatch that should raise red flags. I don't care who is playing qb, if the OL can't run block or pass block, no scheme no matter how clever it might be won't work.

Strength, power and technique. All seem absent on both lines.

I admit to being (realistic ;) ) negative, but not near negative enough to want Wakeboard back.

Absolutely can empathize those last parts. My involvement in watching the game would be much more accurately described as morbid curiosity rather than genuine interest.

Right now I'd be good with that. Richt wasn't a bad coach, just not a championship coach.

Just hope Napier is a great recruiter and can seal the deal on some top tier transfers, including QB. Other than I see nothing to be optimistic about. Sadly. :(
