THE STREAK STAYS ALIVE!!!

It's pretty amazing actually. Our lead over second place TCU is as big as TCU's lead over the 6th place team's active streak.

If we had scored the late touchdown, would we have gone for two?

 

With TCU's new coach, they will not have to worry for a long time.

I fully support kicking that FG. Would have been horrible to not only get blown out but then have the Beavers end our streak.

 

Someone probably came over and told him that he better kick it. lol

 

I am not onboard with this thinking AT ALL. Only internet stat geeks give a crap about that; I never even knew this until today, and neither did much of anyone else. Meaningless stat.

Sorry, but I think it sends a really crappy message to the team; it's nothing but a participation trophy.

 

I was so angry when we didn’t kickit earlier.
I thought it was over.
That streak has gone through 10 coaches and 34 seasons. If Napier could extend it then he had an obligation to do it. It’s so much bigger than he is.

Oh and it was October 29 1988 when we were shut out by Auburn.

 

We weren’t winning the game.

 

But we had done so well on the three previous plays.

 

It's been brought up so many times during the season, especially when we scored early.

 

I'm glad he kicked to keep streak alive, but pathetic that we needed to. It's the closest I've felt to one of Kiffin's "moral victories".

 

Why do I get the feeling this streak will end with BN as HC and OC.

 

Miserable watch. Luckily I recorded it so I could fast forward thru and then hit delete.

Only positive I saw was the play of Pearsall , but I already knew he was good and the streak saving fg. Sad end to season.

 

We talk about this streak all the time.. and we've especially been bringing it up during all of these bad seasons after Meyer left.. since we've routinely had bad offenses

 

Time will tell, Dykes got canned at Cal and did pretty well at SMU before taking Patterson's team to the playoffs. Not at all a guarantee that he'll continue to be good there.

 

While I agree the streak is pretty meaningless, the game was decided when he took the three. May as well keep the streak going and avoid some of the whining. I don't think it sends any particular message to the team that sucking in that game didn't already send so no real downside.

Especially after that brilliant play the coaches drew up on the 4th and 2 the possession before.
