The way of the Yankees. Buy whatever you want and hope you have a gm and coaches that can provide a good product.

I usually take the money too but not all the time. I won’t work for certain people but if they gave me enough, I guess I would do that too. We all have a price.

Is it a “human right” to get paid for services you haven’t even delivered yet? I’d be far more in favor of taking a current player, racking up all the money people are making off his performances, and giving him a cut of it. You know, like NIL is supposed to be. This crap going on isn’t about human rights - it’s about rich guys bidding against each other to buy players who haven’t played a snap of college ball.

I know lots of people see it differently but that’s my take on it

Your first point is spot on. To your 2nd point - just because it’s legal doesn’t make it ethical

But that’s the free market. How much would Ruiz need to pay you to take a job in Miami? Everybody’s got a number.

Ethics is subjective. Do you want win the game on the field or the moral high ground game off the field? Do you play Brandon James over Percy knowing that Percy refused to practice all week because he’s had migraines for which he self medicates?

This is true. But I’m not sure there’s a big difference between $750K and $1M to a 17 year old who is entering college and the NFL will be paying even more in 3 or 4 years, IF you play it smart in the decisions you make between now and then, starting with which university and football team you choose for yourself. Contrary to popular belief, these universities actually offer more than just bags of cash

Yes but you know the saying "too much of a good thing is a bad thing" And I can't think of a better example Of that than Millions in money to a teenage kid

That depends on if I would be able to keep all his money after year one and enter the transfer portal to play for a non 4-6 team in a real conference with a real stadium and a real fan base.

We have a dedicated thread in this forum to discuss NIL. How about we keep that discussion there and keep this one for interesting Twitter updates?

I’d take 750 from UF before a mil from Miami fo sho. But it does have to be in the ballpark.

It’s a huge difference as most kids won’t make the NFL.
