2022 Coaching Carousel Thread

Petrino is the new OC for Barry Odom at UNLV. That’s pretty strong on both sides of the ball.

 

South Carolina hired Arkansas TE’s coach Dowell Loggains as the OC…. Very risky hire IMO considering the majority of games Beamer has coached the offenses have been terrible, except the last 2 games.

Beamer in the PC lays into the media and some of the fanbase.. probably deserved it..

Did he do that unprompted or was he asked a question about it? I get defending your program and the hire, but to me that comes off as insecure. I'm not saying he is, just in this instance seems he doth protest too much

 

He reads social media, message boards and news articles, so that’s why he went all defensive. I’m gonna chalk it up to still maturing as a head coach.. he could have came off better then he did.

 

Head coach should stay away from that crap. Players should too, but your head coach definitely needs to be ignoring all that nonsense, and definitely definitely definitely shouldn’t engage with all the online idiots.

 

There is a reason him and Dabo are good friends. Their personality is exactly the same when it comes to this stuff.

 

Prior to the last two games, most of South Carolina fans and social media was calling for him to be fired. Brutal on their sites after the UF game.

 

many SC fans including myself wanted Marcus Satterfield fired because he was such a terrible OC. It was obvious to anyone that the last 2 games something changed and while he might have called plays, he was obviously forced to make big changes.

If anyone wants Shane Beamer fired, they are not Carolina fans. The media in this state is also very negative towards anything South Carolina and mostly are Clemson fanboys.

Beamer just brought in the 16th ranked recruiting class in just his 2nd year at Carolina. That’s pretty damn impressive and shows the program is on an upward trajectory.

SC needs to open up that pocketbook and pay Beamer what he’s worth.. hell of a coach.
