National Archives releases thousands of JFK assassination records

Interested in what @cocodrilo makes from this info.

 

Oh, there will be plenty of items of interest to JFK researchers. But we already know enough about this release, don't we? 30 percent of the documents continue to be withheld for reasons of "national security."

Thanks a lot, Joe. You're afraid of them too, aren't you? Do you even know why? I think it was FDR who said we have nothing to fear but fear itself.

2 are 179 which are Dept of Justice

Jesus. I stand corrected. But I learned everything I needed to know by watching CNN's hit piece on Jim Garrison last week. There seems to be a really strong groundswell of neoOswaldism on the left now, which is consistent with their raging allergy to conspiracy theories in general.

That's fake news. I'm no more dead than John Kennedy Jr. is.

But I heard that John-John was supposed to show up in Dallas (at the latest assassination anniversary?) and would be Donald Trump's next running mate. Or something like that. It's all so confusing.

 

Last night CNN reported an important find in these documents. The document says that Oswald saw a movie about an attempted presidential assassination not long before the shooting, and that helped inspire that lone-nut Commie to shoot JFK.

Actually this "important find" is an old story. The movie was "Suddenly," starring Frank Sinatra as the would-be assassin. Who knows if Oswald saw it? Anyway, as I recall Sinatra had the movie shelved after the assassination and for years it was unavailable. Spoiler alert: Sinatra was going to shoot the president when he got off a train in the town of Suddenly (I forget what for). So what happens? Word leaked out (I forget how) and the train didn't even stop.
