More about Grayson McCall from a 247 article below: McCall was given a grade of 98.2 by Pro Football Focus on his throws of 20 yards or more. 247Sports analyst Brendan Sonnone added that McCall may not have a cannon for an arm and his torque is limited with most of his throws over the middle of the field, which is a concern, "but don't confuse that with a lack of deep-ball ability" in an offense. "McCall is a legitimately great thrower of the deep ball, combining touch and accuracy with shots downfield. It kind of reminds of what Gardner Minshew was in college." Why your QB-needy team should pursue Grayson McCall: 5 landing spots for the Coastal Carolina transfer
McCall reminds me a little of Danny Weurffel, not in terms of throwing mechanics but in terms of arm strength. Danny didn’t have a strong arm. But he could throw the ball 40 yards downfield with great accuracy.
Think I’d be happy with any of the four mentioned. They’d all amount to addition by subtraction, wildly inconsistent as AR was.
In the first three minutes oof this video, McCall is referred to as a superstar. Hopefully, we go hard after Grayson!
I’m remarkably sanguine on transfer QB’s at this point, based on Rashada AND assuming that Miller looks solid tomorrow.
When it comes to QBs... Over 8,000 yards... over a 70% completion percentage and 78 TDs WITH ONLY 8 INTs? Are you kidding me? That's a QB that we have to get.
Don’t agree that there’s a “have to get” if Miller is solid and with Rashada and Lagway in the wings.
I can agree to disagree with you. Lol. Rashada will be a true freshman... will not be ready. Miller, even if he lights it up, will have one good game on his resume. Lagway won't even be here next year. McCall has had 3 years to prove that he is a freaking stud at QB. Ding, ding, ding... winner!
We won't know if Miller is solid until halfway through next year. And even then an injury and Relying on a freshman is dicey.
I don’t think he’s saying the commitment won’t stick, just that Lagway isn’t going to help the team in ‘23.
#1 is true - ain’t going to auburn this weekend. #2, if valid, wouldn’t prevent him from going to auburn.
