maybe they aren’t impressed with Bamas QB room? Seems the kid who took Young’s place had the legs, but couldn’t pass very well.
THURSDAY, DEC. 8 UNC former 5-star Silver enters portal North Carolina redshirt freshman defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver has entered the transfer portal. Silver (6-4, 315), a five-star recruit and ESPN's No. 8 overall prospect in 2021, appeared in three games for the Tar Heels this season and recorded three tackles against the Miami Hurricanes.
It's hard to get a read on the value of some of these former high end recruits that are transferring after 1 or 2 years. Are they late bloomers, impatient, misfit for their scheme or are they busts and processed out? It's going to be interesting to see the success rate of these guys once we have a few years of data to measure. Not a young guy when he left but even a guy who was slammed as too slow and a randy special like James Houston is now doing well for Detroit.
Could be some are wondering what their market NIL value really is as that side of the process grows. Regardless, can’t say I don’t wonder how these actions are viewed by teammates/team if they don’t leave. It’s a weird time.
This is the type of production and Lb we should take from the portal. A few good ones with a nose for ball. The LB from Oklahoma State that led them in tackles also in portal. Don’t want potential, want proven production to stop the run. Get us a Zach Thomas, not a guy that looks good in a uniform.
If he is a Zach Thomas type of LB, then by law, he has to wear one of those huge-over the top collars right?
Former Auburn/Kentucky/UCF QB/WR Joey Gatewood in the portal. Transferring for the 4th time. Those of you who remember Gatewood was an All American QB coming out of High School (Bartram Trail H.S Jax).
Aaron Anderson, Alabama, Wide Receiver Is there any reason we shouldn’t be going all out for this kid? I would think our staff would know him and he is a speedy, slot receiver that we need. Immediate ST impact
