I don't think guys like Thibodaux went to Oregon without some financial enhancement. Sure he was a west coast kid but Oregon is a world apart from LA lifestyle and weather wise.

It would be better if there was structure and a cap relative to what the schools were generating from football. The nfl draft has a dollar amount attached to each pick and it’s a pretty fair system. I don’t watch the nfl anymore mostly because of players and money being more important than anything else but it is a fair monetary system and teams can’t really cheat the system.

The reason there is a cap is because it was negotiated by the owners and union.

It costs me at least 2k to go to a gator game from pcola. It’s not just the tix that cost 200-300 per seat. Life is just expensive. Fuel went up and now a trip to the rigs for 350 gallons we from 1.79 a gallon to $4. $1400 just in fuel for four guys.$400 each just for a free trip. Entertainment rules though.

NIL has zero to do with what the schools generate financially. It's 3rd party money.
If you want a cap, let the players form a union and negotiate revenue sharing. NIL would still be outside of this.

Nil wouldn’t rule if half the money generated were being spent on players.free employees are nice but not so free anymore.

If the ‘Collective’ and the admin can’t get together and figure out a way for Billy and the boys to ‘get in the game’ with the likes of Ruiz and others, then they just as well might not set their sights on guys that make it known that THE highest bidder is going to gain their ‘services’. Cause it WONT be UF.

It’s a dumb way to do business anyway. Why give Rodgers 50 mil and let one of the best receivers in the game walk. Selfish players don’t win championships.

Even if players were paid by the school, they would still be getting NIL offers comparable to what is being offered now.

I think it will take 4-5 yrs to shake out NIL. Once a full class comes and goes, you will be able to see the effect on ROI.

He talked about it last year prior to the draft part of his process was understanding that he would have a relationship with Nike down the line. He also tried to pretend he chose Oregon over Bama because it’s a much better school.

This reminds me of people complaining about the amount pro players are paid. They have been complaining as long as I can remember and the amounts just keep increasing almost on a j curve.

Clearly UF is doing fine with recruiting right now compared with Miami, but if Samson chooses the Canes tomorrow, who’s to say it wasn't because of non-financial reasons? The guy isn’t considering TAMU, Georgia, Bama, etc.

I just paid 150 bucks for two tickets and parking to see Neal deGrasse Tyson. When did my values change so much.

Wealthy as individuals or as a society? I’m not ready to call Trillion$ in debt wealthy. But hey, we keep spending…
