"choked me, threw me off the bed, bit me, bruises all over my leg, throwing me around, and going nuts."
'Officers also noted visible bite marks, abrasions and cuts.'

Wow. What the hell could have possibly prompted this. He was either secretly insane before all this or something REALLY set him off.

Apparently he snapped when she broke his glasses during an argument.

Its a pretty easy process to match the bite marks to him.

If its a match he should be fired immediately regardless of what happens legally.

No one who bites their fiance should ever lead young men.

I'm not in any way making light of the domestic violence situation here, but this statement on it own MUST possess some measure of comedy gold. I'm not creative enough at the moment to find it, but it's in there.

I'm sure there's a rehab job at Liberty for him.

We have a judicial process that allows an attorney to throw spaghetti against a wall to see what sticks as a defense. Casey Anthony's attorney was allowed to accuse her father of sexual abuse and then never revisit that claim with any facts again. The seed was planted.

Now this isn't a murder case but he could claim rough sex and if she's willing to go along with the story I wouldn't be surprised to see him get off. No pun intended

Wow. No kidding, especially one who goes ballistic over something as minor as broken glasses.

Yeah, he might escape criminal charges. That doesn't mean UT can keep him.

    This is just strange.
I've heard of coaches getting DUIs and other problems, but I don't recall a head coach of a major university revenue sport being arrested for domestic violence.
It seems like most coaches may have other issues, but usually have stable/ strong families and family relationships backing them up.

    Maybe I'm forgetting though.

Usually I say wait for the facts to come out but unless somebody was assaulting his daughter he is finished.

If Beard would bring a national championship to Gainesville, lots of Gator fans would have zero qualms about hiring him if Golden doesn’t work out. Lots.

I don’t know that might be the worst thing you could do to me. I am blind without my glasses. It doesn’t excuse his actions in any way but I think I would rather brake a finger than my glasses.

I was hoping it was for defending one of his daughters, but that isn't the case.
Can't imagine him being retained by Texas. maybe in 3-5 years he lands back on his feet at a major power 5 school, but this I would think a firable offense.

How 'bout this: instead of strangling your girlfriend, you buy new glasses instead?

Honestly -- i would never want him associated with our athletic program, someone like him should not be responsible for leading young men. he has serious issues and needs help.
i'd rather not a win a game for 4 years than hire him.

I am not excusing his behavior but if you really need glasses you can understand how bad this was.
