He got a lifetime achievement award. He was a 1,000 yard rusher in an option offense he accounted for a little over 2500 total yards in 2001. One of the all time shafts considering grossmans numbers but the Midwest bias struck and would strike again later on. Also the sophomore barrier hadn't been broken at that time so the college football traditionalists weren't ready to break ranks. It's usually about the best player on one of the best teams though. If florida had beaten Tennessee that year I imagine even the sophomore issue would have been hard for the voters to use to snubb Grossman. Sorry about the rant. I agree with you about the sophomore barrier. I suspect that Rex's performance during the Auburn game also influenced the voters, much as the Miss State game harmed Shane in 1992. But no problems about the rant. After more than 20 years, it is still a touchy issue for many.
If Stetson helps beat OSU with a big game, well I think the kid is consistent and very heady good. We will see if Stroud can keep up. This game I will watch and for one I hope the Dawgs mash them Buckeyes good! Go SEC!

The SEC cheer never meant “The SEC is number 1!”. It meant we are gonna(finally) win the SEC. Joy at the football misfortunes of others is all we’ve had for a long time.
Sweet jeezus wing is finally making sense. I'll never understand rooting for Georgia, ever, in anything and rooting for the SEC was a brief thing when we were fighting for credibility against the old media bias for the pac 12, big 12 and big 10 traditional schools that Neary robbed the Gators of a title shot against Ohio state. The SEC has screwed florida more often than not. Hard pass. Gators just need to get our $h!T together where we don't need help from anyone.
