This is a big game. We have the talent to be really good, but we have both underperformed and battled depth issues because of injury, leave of absence, transfers, etc.

Get everyone back and play a full game with the right kind of effort and we can win this and set up with some momentum going into the Oklahoma game and SEC play.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Florida women's basketball will head south this weekend for a matchup with in-state foe Miami on Sunday, Dec. 11 in Coral Gables, Fla.

The game will air live on the ACC Network at 4 p.m. ET with Roy Philpott and Brooke Weisbrod on the call. Kyle Crooks and Brittany Davis will handle radio responsibilities on 98.1FM/850AM WRUF.

    SERIES HISTORY
The Gators and Hurricanes meet for the 43rd time, but first time since 2010, on Sunday. UF holds a 42-28 advantage in the series with Miami winning the last two meetings.

    STRONG START
The Gators, who boast a 9-1 mark through nine games, are currently in the midst of their best start to a season since the 2015-16 campaign when they opened 12-1. The best start to a season in program history came during the 2008-09 campaign when they began 15-1.

    JUST WIN
With their victory over Presbyterian, Florida is now on a seven-game winning streak, the longest since the 2015-16 campaign when the Gators won 12-straight from Nov. 16-Dec. 30, 2015.

    COUNTDOWN TO 800
Florida women's basketball is closing in on their 800th victory as a program, currently holding 797 during their 49-year history. When the Gators accomplish the feat, they will be the 13th SEC to cross the 800-win threshold, with Mississippi State also chasing the accomplishment, owning 775 victories as a program entering the 2022-23 season.

    KK'S 1K
Florida senior guard, KK Deans, is closing in on her 1,000th career point. The West Virginia transfer recorded 788 points with the Mountaineers and currently holds 129 points on the season with the Gators, pushing her career total to 917. She would be the second 1,000-point scorer on the roster, as Leilani Correa scored 1,272 points in her three seasons at St. John's.

    60: THE MAGIC NUMBER
Under the leadership of Kelly Rae Finley, Florida's defense will always be a point of emphasis. Helping to prove that point, the Gators own a perfect 19-0 mark under Finely when holding opponents to 60 points or less.

    'CHOMP DOWN' DEFENSE
The Orange & Blue have made their defensive identity a key element to the 2022-23 season. Following nine games, the Gators are second in the SEC in turnovers forced per game, forcing an average of 21.30, which is good for 34th nationally as well. They have forced 20 or more turnovers in six games this season. The Gators are also fourth in the SEC with 10.3 steals per game.

30-27 at the half. Missed opportunity at the end there, but we fought back behind Correa.

We seem to come out of breaks sloppy a lot of times, But I do not like how the refs officiate the people around Kyle. They let her get slapped and pushed a lot. I understand she could be a little stronger, but it is like big person syndrome. The refs think she should be able to fight throught it. She has been slapped at least 5 times today that I have counted with no call

She hasn't been impressive to me. If she wants the calls she is gonna have to step up IMO. We keep playing big over talent. We are finally out there with 4 guards.
