Was just reading a string of tweets from MSNBC folks. They are ripping her to shreds. Good objective journalism from that crew. Meanwhile as expected the Fox crowd is acting like she just won the Republican primary. So typical.

Regardless, there is a lot of angst from democratic talking heads and influencers while the actual politicians are just trying to do damage control.

This is a bad look for the Dems.
They are technically a minority now, though the voting wont play out that way.

Did you read the MSNBC tweets they quoted though lol? 6Id call that a tantrum. When you click the link, that's who they are talking about. I means they are losing it on her...

Regardless though, Just another case of the media covering the media. So it is these days I'm afraid.

Considering that Bernie Sanders and Angus King have always considered themselves Independents, the Dems were technically a minority since they lost their true majority in 2014. Although Sinema has yet to announce that she will be caucusing with the Democrats she will undoubtedly do so either directly or indirectly if she doesn't want to lose her Committee assignments including her positions as Chairs of the Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management and the Subcommittee on Aviation Safety, Operations, and Innovation.

Interesting point - does Schumer remain as "majority" leader?

I guess we will see if this signals a change in her voting or not. Not sure it necessarily changes things nationally. Angus King is independent but if 538 is correct, it seems that he's a more reliable vote for Biden's agenda than Manchin is - who's actually a Democrat.

Does Your Member Of Congress Vote With Or Against Biden?

    where does this come from?!

Below is the headline. And this is from the article:

"Today’s news, however, isn’t quite as dramatic. Sinema has left the Democratic Party and changed her affiliation to independent, but she’ll continue to caucus with Senate Democrats. She won’t be alone on that front: Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Angus King of Maine are independents who’ve partnered with Democrats for many years."

What is it with always attempting to project? It reminds me of how dems were supposedly scared of Sarah Palin's political power. I guess when Repubs/maga has a colossal midterm disappointment, the only thing that can be done is just create something to "own the libs".

There were 2 tweets from MSNBC people in that whole thing. One just noted (somewhat sarcastically) that it was unsurprising (this one is the only one from an actual host). The other was from an opinionated "contributor," not a journalist. Then, they brought up the more "sober" response from other MSNBC folks on straight news shows, which is largely a lack of surprise and talking about how odd she is in terms of her politics.

But yeah, "losing it." Clickbait stuff.

There are a plethora of twitter rants today from MSNBC folks. (Is that what you are asking?)

    A couple of examples:

Funny thing about Twitter... It leads to other tweets. Plenty of MSNBC/liberal media types ripping her.

Your three examples of MSNBC people ripping her included one person sarcastically pointing out that this isn't a surprise and one person observing her political evolution from a Green Party person ripping Lieberman to basically Lieberman. Neither one of those seem like "ripping." Seem like pretty standard observations. The third example was from somebody who doesn't appear to work for MSNBC.

The third person is the producer of Maddow's blog and does work for MSNBC.

I mean i just grabbed 3. We could do this all day. Just ready the blue check comments under these. Plenty of libs upset by it. I mean is that a shock?

Its like when we lose a recruit and everyone says, "he was really not good and we arr better without him!". It's just the way things work.

#1 and #3 work for MSNBC. #2 doesn't (who I meant when I said the third person, as that was a ripping, but not by an MSNBC person). The #3 person is hardly a ripping. Seems like a pretty solid observation. Sinema was a Green Party person who ripped Lieberman. Now, she has done the same thing he did. He just observed that.

Sinema was about to face a primary by all accounts. Democratic activists haven't been happy with her for the last couple of years (Gallego appears to be the popular name, as he is a very good speaker, went to Harvard, and joined the Marines to go to Iraq). So your last paragraph is a pretty big miss on an analogy.

Just look at how many people refer to "fake news" or now question elections. The people who routinely refer to those things are such non-thinking robotic cultists.

The move makes a lot is sense when you think about it. Her negatives are very high among Arizona Democrats so she probably would be toast. By going independent, she sets up a 3 way race, which would kill her and the Democrats chances. At that point the logical thing for Democrats to do is try an Evan McMullin and not run a candidate. Whether they can get AZ Democrats to actually follow through with that could be another matter.

Say Hello to AZ senator 2024 Kari Lake.

That could possibly be the play, unfortunately. The problem is that I am not sure that she has endeared herself to independents or Republicans in Arizona. But yeah, she could basically blow everything up (and, given her history, she might).

Typically I’d have some respect for independents and bucking party line but to me with her it seems like it is all a gimmick - blow things up just for attention.

She seems a little like the Dem version of Ted Cruz. A narcissistic psycho in it for attention and power.

Yeah I guess this story fell victim to a slow news day. It’s not the best news for the dems for sure, but in the larger sense it isn’t that big a deal. She’s gonna vote how she votes, the dems still have a majority, and if she caucuses with the dems it’s pretty much business as usual.

I dont think the two are always the same.
The Media is overwhelmingly registered democrat. That tells you there will be bias. Human nature and all. This has been discussed since Bill Clinton was a candidate. This isnt new and has nothing to do with the fake election nonsense.

Couple that with the ratings/click driven motivation and it gets even worse.

Trump took a fact, (biased media) and twisted it to fit his fake election nonsense.

But there is no questioning a bias in media.

I think many Americans of all ilks have lost faith in our media.
