Emron Lane was an after thought when it comes to Dalvin Cook. Every year there is some package deal for a top recruit. We would have gladly kept or took Dalvin with Emron had he stayed committed.

 

No. The whole manner by the way this went about is a red flag. McClain may not have publicly committed to UF but he was a lock. And if it wasn't for all the NIL crap then there's no drama here. I don't care what others think about it because there was just too much going good between UF and McClain for McClain to have not already given a silent pledge. And kids do silently commit and wait until told to go public. I highly doubt Napier and Raymond had no idea where McClain was going.

Furthermore, 247 had a video claiming McClain committed to UF. While that didn't happen I do have a hard time believing 247 would be that irresponsible to make a public video that McClain committed to UF without being told that's exactly where he was going. We all wanted McClain in this class but I'm not open to it if it was causing one of our committed DB's to look elsewhere. Now the ship sailed and we're solid without McClain.

 

Cook committed to UF and then decomitted. When was there noise of Cook wanting back in the UF class?

 

I recall Cook’s “commitment” was entirely staged and disingenuous at inception. FSU used him to troll our program, recruit our recruits from within, and just make us look bad. It was disgusting on the part of the FSU coaches to use a kid to do their dirty work, and disgraceful for Cook to participate in such reprehensible actions.

 

Apparently we are looking to take one more cornerback from high school. With that said, money is going to have to wait being that he missed his turn. If we don’t get Ricks then we circle back. Of course I would like to have both, but I for sure don’t want to miss on both.

Obviously the staff has closed the door on McClain if it’s willing to risk whiffing on Ricks.

A person posted about Cook a few pages ago and made it seem like we wouldn't take him and he balled out at FSU.

 

Problem is, what does his word even mean if he told Raymond that he was gonna commit to us on the way to the announcement ceremony and then picks UM? Why waste your time with that until signing day, really.

Yeah, kid is a take if it doesn't cost much time/effort or another recruit. Were he willing to wait until after ESD, it's a no brainer.
