No arguments about "its easy" from the stands. And of course your right, I don't, and never have, presumed to know the minds of the coaches. But I do remember a bunch of between the tackles "run plays" with those two and wondering..........why?
Richardson’s biggest problem is his lack of consistency. I think that will be his ultimate failing in the NFL. Everybody talks about his natural physical talents and I agree he has them. But his biggest problem is between his ears. He can be spectacular one weekend, then at best mediocre the next. I don’t see the mental toughness in him that is absolutely necessary for a successful NFL quarterback. We will never know but personally, I think if he had returned to UF next year, we would have had much the same as this year. Flashes of brilliance mixed with inexplicable bad decisions and errors in judgement. But, again, we’ll never know.
Yeah. That your Geossman and the gators destroyed eventual SEC champion LSU. Florida should have been there. Thank a hurricane for the TN game reschedule after FSU. Whatever the case Miami was a really good team that year and I kind of doubt we’d have made it through them. But it would have been nice to have had a shot. The premise of this article is something I’ve wondered a lot. The UF QB luck (some of it self caused) has been atrocious post Tebow.
What if Percy had stayed? He could have been the difference in the Bama game. We certainly would have had a much more explosive offense in the '09 season. THAT Bama loss did change everything - for the worse.
Was part of the "lakeland kids group (5 or 7?)" recruited by Urban. Decent player, didn't play a ton. Regrettably his name is associated as being a key figure in the "party" that was notorious for Dunlops arrest, and supposedly a reference point for Urbans loss of control of the 09 club.
And if I remember correctly, there were assistants at that party that should have known better. I guess in hindsight the Urban teams were built on a house of cards, so if it wasn't the party it would have been something else I guess.
You are correct, and I find it to be really odd. Most college coaches seem to want to die on the job. Not him. He acts like it torments him somehow. IMO, when Urban is on his game, he and Saban are the two best college coaches. But Urbs has worms in his head for some reason. Damn shame.
