That is a bit of a disappointing way to go out. This team beat defending champ Wisconsin but lost puzzlers too, so I guess on brand. Solid season but hoped for a little more, and maybe even some magic…

one of the youngest teams in the nation and you wanted magic? won the sec, beat wisky in front of largest crowd i history, and advanced to sweet 16 before playing their hearts out against pitt made this an overachieving magical team.

 

You are criticizing my hope that this team could make one more round? My desire that this young team who beat wisky at home, as I pointed out, might take Mary Wise’s amazing legacy a little further this year.

Sorry I wanted even more for this team, I guess? Nothing in my post was in any way critical of the team, just love stucky and the girls and wanted a little more for them, so you will have to argue with someone else.

 

Mary said the five service errors in the first set plus lack of tournament experience were the main contributors to the loss. Only three Gators had NCAA tournament experience which was the least of the total field. There are 334 Div. I volleyball teams and these ladies with only one senior made it to the final 16. The future is very bright for this team.

 

How many matches did you watch?

 

They might be one pin player short next year, but if they find one in the portal, look out.

 

just as important that the 2 freshmen and 1 sophomore in the backcourt have another year of experience.-----The 3 incoming freshmen bigs could be helpful.

 

Is there a GC requirement that you have to watch a certain number of matches to comment?

Since you asked, I watched all 3 tournament matches, the last Ky match, and several others throughout the year. Is that sufficient?

 

Too many service errors without getting many aces.

Congrat's to the girls for a really good season. They finished about where they should have. Didn't overachieve, didn't underachieve. Mary has built a rock solid program and we are fortunate to have her. The Whisky win was the season high, and probably the loss to UK was the low for me at least, with the chance to win the SEC and not have to share it. Hard to criticize the Volleyball program when I would love for 95% of the other programs to have their success. Mary does it the right way and although I want to get over the hump and win a natty, I think it is going to be tough as hell to replace her whenever that day comes. Hopefully not for a good long while.
