If he wins the award for best lineman, will he be added to the Ring of Honor? It would be the most prestigious award a lineman can receive, so it only seems fair that he be in it.

 

He certainly would be deserving. The only thing I think that would keep him out is the amount of time he was here.

No, O'Cyrus will not be in the ring of honor. Despite his considerable talents and achievements, All American status does not qualify you.

 

Think you need to be National Offensive or Defensive Player of Year. Two first team All American years as well. Crazy. No OL will ever get in unless elected to the NFL HOF

Why has his NFL draft status dropped?

 

Where have you seen this? Everything I saw has him first round.

I wish the Bucs would take him for added depth after seeing what happened to the OL there last year but they're looking at taking tackles, I think.

 

My only guess is it’s because he’s a guard, not a high value position and the perception is you can find them standing on most street corners. He’s different though, a potential 10yr All-Pro starter. Some of it might be smoke to discourage other teams from taking him. Several mocks still have him going in round 1 though, and he will, imho.

 

All the recent mock draft lists that I have viewed no longer list him in the first round. Thought he made a positive impression at the Senior Bowl. Just curious why he is missing from current first round lists.
