To no none in particular: I would argue that pharmaceuticals has comparatively little to do with the increase of life expectancy - until recent years - and much to do with the decrease in life expectancy in recent years.

So you don’t believe in viruses but believe in an invisible man up in the sky that is almost certainly non existent. Good stuff.

Another attempt at a derail. Given that almost everyone who died from (or likely with) covid was at or near life expectancy with multiple serious comorbidities, my question is perfectly valid.

You asserted that medical advances caused covid to be less deadly than the Spanish flu. I'm unaware of what advances caused covid to kill the elderly and infirm rather than young and healthy, nor any that will keep people who are at life expectancy from dying of illnesses. If you want to assert this you need data.

I said GBS. Call it a reclassification of polio. But of course I already said that.

Look, there is money to be made with medicine. The problem is there are actually comparatively few symptoms.

Solution: coin new diseases. The more diseases, the more medications you can sell.

I tried to get mumps and measles but couldn’t. Had friends who were getting out of school with it. Pissed me off.

This is back when you thought viruses were real, right? Ah the ignorance of youth.

I had no reason to break from the herd until pan-panic occasioned the opportunity to research the subject.

Yes, we all had a lot more free time during COVID. Most people just learned to make bread, not discard broadly accepted medical knowledge.

“broadly accepted medical knowledge” has, at one time or another, incorporated gods are angry, humors, microbes entering the ears of otherwise sterile people, etc.

So for you its just a return to the broadly accepted medical knowledge of the middle ages rather than breaking new ground

You don’t believe in God but you do believe in viruses.

I don’t believe in viruses but I do believe in God.

    We’re both believers!

    So’s your uncle.

I have come to the conclusion that virology is the modern day equivalent of demonology.

Dont you believe in literal demons as a religious person? Or are you being complementary to virology?

My beliefs on the Bible have Bible-believers running screaming from the room. So do you believe in demons or just the demons they’re vaccinating us against ?
