Oh they do but the butthurt is going to be very strong when the GOP pushes trump out. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asked his idiot followers to stay home. Ron is going to have to get in the mud if he’s gonna take down Trump. And trumps followers will not like that. Gonna be a very entertaining primary that’s for sure.

Maybe. But Trump isn't going anywhere. While some will switch if it looks like Trump can't win, a whole lot of Republicans just really like Trump, no matter how much you wish it wasn't so. He will be a major factor in the Repup primaries.

That’s great news. I can’t wait for DeSantis’s new motto: “America is where woke goes to die.” That should look great on the world stage. Tilly, you keep telling us what a moderate you are, but then you betray yourself.

Of course. But this shows that his support is eroding. Before DeSantis has even announced. Trump should be riding high with his big announcement and no competition yet. Instead he already trails a non candidate in these polls.

I'm betraying myself by posting polls that show Trump Is losing ground?

Nah dog. You guys just want all or nothing. Blue or nothing.

It wouldn't be very moderate of me to vote for the cast of characters the left throws out either.

    Sorry to disappoint.

It remains endlessly hilarious that people think little Ronnie is going to get more votes than Trump and then orange Dear Leader is going to salute the crowd and go away quietly. And that his red hatted bowl of deplorables will show up and vote for someone else if that happens.

Do the words "scorched earth" mean anything to you?

Anyone think Trump will play good politician if he loses in the primaries and toss his support to someone like DeSantis? That's the big wildcard here. More and more Rs are abandoning the Trumpster fire as they realize Trumpers can't win general elections in swing states. But the core Trump sycophants? What do they do if Trump loses in the primary? Follow Trump down his rabbit holes and maybe write in Trump? Not vote at all? Or still vote R? Impossible to really predict.

Unless Trump is in jail, which isn't happening, he is running and not bailing in favor of Desantis or anyone else. That would be too big of an ego hit now that he has announced, not to mention getting reelected would be another way to escape much of the current litigation against him.
Gonna be a loooong 2 years I think.

Did I say any of that?
I said DeSantis is catching him in the polls.

I have no doubt that the orange baby is going to try and burn it all down.

The point is, he will not be the face of conservatism anymore and we can start rebuilding.

Let him burn it down. It needs it anyway.
Then we can begin moving forward.

DeSantis is feisty as long as he's not contradicted or confronted, so Trump and one or two other candidates will own him. He'll show his thin skin and poor temperament, un-presidential qualities his supporters will unfortunately ignore.

I'm not throwing shade on Tilly, but there's something about many Christians which doesn't allow them to practice Christ's essential message (as far as I'm concerned) to be tolerant of, if not to love, others. Thus, they are all up in arms about immigration (at least, by brown people south of us) and the "woke culture". Their actions don't bespeak a kind heart, nor do Desantis's, who's a bright but small-minded and unkind man.

Nope, it’s your glee that DeSantis might get elected president.

I’m guessing a lot of the same people who are acting like Trump is invincible as the GOP nominee for 2024 were telling us how he was going to lose in 2016 once the field narrowed, Hillary, etc etc..

    Actually, largely the opposite.
