Wow... just totally frickin' wow.

 

Apparently they don’t like each other so we are all in on Ricks to finish out the DB class right now.

 

We just gotta get one of them. Or both, then they can duel out in the swamp. Most picks/pbu/tackles wins

 

I'd rather we take Ricks. And we need to keep all our other DBs too.

 

Two weeks from tomorrow

 

The way things went down reminded me of the smarmy schytt FSU used to pull under both Bobby and Jimbo. Dalvin "I love the Gators" Cook comes readily to mind. Of course, scUM doesn't need any tips from anyone when it comes to acting like ultra low-rent garbage. Frankly, I'll believe this turns out well when I see it.

 

We will need them all to play man/press on the back-end . we will need to keep them alternating because without great replacements we cannot play it all game long. And when we play man press we get turnovers.

Remember how we came out in the 3rd quarter against UGA? We forced like 3 turnovers running man/press, then we ran out of gas and replacements to run that scheme. So we need all the DBs we can get in this signing class.

 

One of the reasons I HATE that school so much. Dirty …dirty …dirty …Instructing kids to lie and play games when taking other visits. Kiff did the same at UT. No moral integrity. Some people in the profession have no business mentoring young men.

I mean, I don't get a vote, but if McClain really does want in and it's just a matter of deciding whether we want to forgive or forget the nonsense associated with his initial commitment (and I'm skeptical, but hypothetically), then yeah, I'm all about that. You can mouth the "We don't want guys like that in our locker room" bromides all you want, but after 12 years of bad football, the whole warm glow of moral superiority that supposedly comes from watching guys who are worse football players but more humble human beings blow coverages against elite talent has kind of burned out for me, you know?

 

Then I can only imagine how you feel seeing one of our ‘humble’ players celebrate a pass break up after being burned all game.

There was an investigative piece done some years ago by the NYT, if I remember right. FSU had some dumb players on the team so they created classes specifically for them to get their grades in line. One class was called “Coffee” …not making this up. Well the instructor of the class was told to make sure they all pass. She pushed back stating some of these guys are not taking it seriously and produced essays that were written at 3rd or 4th grade level for their exam. She did not pass all of them …and the school fired her. A year or so later after not being able to find a teaching job the young lady killed herself.

I have nothing but contempt for that university.

 

Sorry, I can’t be on board with that. It’s not ok to lie & mislead the staff …after they tirelessly made an effort to build a relationship with you for nearly a year…. Then 6 hours later after saying “I’m all Gator” …announce for a hated rival …then think it’s funny that you left egg on their face and then try to embarrass them further by trolling on social media. This team is fragile right now and needs leaders …not this kind of bullshit. He can take his circus somewhere else.

I'm guessing there is some truth in it....and I'm pretty sure we are focused MUCH more on Ricks.

 

We gained some ground this weekend
