    No doubt!

People actually think he did a good job and tried his best. If he actually did what he preached before the pandemic. He would be viewed as a noble person. But he did not. He chose to not follow the medicine and science he was trained in and instead allow the fame to override sound advice.

You can find good advice from him pre pandemic. But he went off the deep end and has caused generational damage.

Every other message you write has the words “generational damage” in it, lol. You also think that quack Joseph Ladapo from America’s Frontline Doctors, whom Desantis only recruited because he would say what he wants, is a reputable doctor and did a great job as our surgeon general, so lol.

DeSantis broke from mass-hysteria and mandated freedom over fear.

Dr. Ladapo has been phenomenal. Seeking information from all perspectives to help articulate a plan to advise how to navigate the issues of the day when it comes to healthcare.

DeSantis brought on Dr. Ladapo because he knew that he would seek all information to help formulate a path to navigate. DeSantis knows he is not a doctor and at the same time he was able to see politics infiltrate via Covid and wanted someone who would not be stuck in a one size fits all tunnel vision. And he was correct on that call. November defined it for us with a landslide win.

    Your bias is palpable.

One of the reasons Fauci won’t go away is because millions of Americans worship him. Wasn’t he the most trusted man in America, at a time in which the fearmongering and gaslighting he embodied was killing multitudes ?

So can you provide evidence that Ladapo actively sought out evidence that disagreed with his position in decision making, since you claim he did?

Actually, if you read into the bowels of this link, Fauci actually had no say over Covid policy.

    From the article:
“This means the doctors on the White House Task Force who headed HHS departments – including Fauci, Redfield and Collins, the heads of the CDC, NIAID and NIH – had no authority over determining or implementing Covid policy and were following the lead of the NSC and the DHS (Department of Homeland Security), which is the department under which FEMA operates.

It means our response to the Covid pandemic was led by groups and agencies that are in the business of responding to wars and terrorist threats, not public health crises or disease outbreaks.”

Yet righties still want to crucify Fauci as being the devil.seems y’all should blame that on the prior administration.

And it begs the question-why did the Trump administration put FEMA in charge of a worldwide health crises?

Gov. Polis (Colorado) recently said his belief is that things should basically be open unless area hospitals are reaching capacity. That doesn't affect only Covid patients but people who need to be in there for other reasons. I can see that reasoning and can't remember what Polis did there early on. Especially with what we know now, closing schools should absolutely be a last resort, and I think it's unlikely again on a widespread scale. School is just too important for kids (and parents). Fauci wasn't perfect, but I also think some state and local officials are going to blame him for decisions that they made and hope people will forget despite the fact that what Fauci was saying was (from what I can tell) in line with the medical community generally based upon the information we had at the time, given that we didn't have a vaccine yet, and that the variant seemed more deadly than what is prevalent now.

Just a reminder that for-profit hospitals prefer to run at near capacity and are required by law to have provisions for 125-150% capacity.

People accuse Fauci of not following the science are misinformed. Let's look at some of the science Fauci was reading back in July, 2020. The title of the National Institute of Health Study is, "Association Between Statewide School Closure and COVID-19 Incidence and Mortality in the US." In short, in areas in the US where schools were closed in Spring, 2020, the incidence of COVID-19 and mortality rate was lower than areas where schools stayed open. At least, this is what the science was showing at the time.

Fauci simply was, and still is, doing his job as Chief Medical Advisor, and a virology expert. And while the kids may not have been in danger, COVID spreads faster in areas where more humans are in contact with each other. This includes schools. And in a time before any vaccine and no great treatments, and COVID quickly becoming the third leading cause of death, if your goal is to keep as many people safe from COVID as possible, then closing schools had to be on the radar.

Today, things are different. We have vaccines that while won't stop the spread of COVID, will make the disease manageable for the majority who have been jabbed. COVID would have to be completely out of control to even consider closing schools. Which is basically what Fauci said.

“I don't know. Margaret, I’m not sure. When you talk about shutting down schools, there's always the … collateral issue. So you have to balance, and you do it in real time depending upon the viral load of disease in your region.”

You have to understand, in his head that translates roughly to:

"We must close all the schools immediately, un-socialized kids will be easier to feed to Hillary, or we can make all the kids go to X-rated drag shows, also, Trump really won but we cheated him, Margaret."

He is. You are correct. From pushing a one size fits all approach on a shot that was not necessary to many. To pushing useless masks on kids during the some of the most important development stages in their life. The man is one of the worst.

It is so sad he decided to stop practicing medicine like he did before the pandemic and instead allowed fame to harm so many people. Especially kids.
